Said goodbye to Maggie today. I had her almost 16 years. (https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpa1/v/t1.0-9/s480x480/10930941_10203528195702313_8352389160139973792_n.jpg?oh=229e0f60739644213bef18d3972ec100&oe=55225A08&__gda__=1429383415_89a31bb6cf51a335517bb89d482bb408)

Had to do the same recently at 16 1/2. It's rough. So sorry.

2 1/2 years since my yellow lab was put to sleep. Still miss him every day. Hard to explain how they become such a part of our life. Time eases the pain, but I don't know if it will ever go away.
-
condolences. I always wish it weren't so.

I buried Magic on June 21 of 14, the first day of summer. I still tear up when I think of her. I feel your pain and grief. Dogs touch us like nothing else. :'(

Maggie is happily running in dog heaven.
Blessings and the poodles send a tail wag.

Thanks, guys.

We've lost two now, never gets easier. But more need rescuing so we set our selves up for more tears down the road. In the mean time; they are great companions. Hang in there.

Sorry to hear. We had to put ours down the week before Christmas.
Looking for another rescue.

So sorry to hear, never easy. This is a photo of "Rags". We lost her a few years ago at age 21+. I married into her and my wife was the 5th known owner and had her for over 16 years. The first know owner found her in an alley in the dead of winter almost dead with her dead puppies. She was a cool dog in many ways but HATED the mail man.

After twenty years he still grieved"-from Mr. Bojangles by Jerry Jeff Walker

I'm way too familiar with how you feel. I lost my 4.8 year old Rotty Emma on the 2nd of this month. It's still hurting. I still visit her grave and talk to her. I also ordered her a nice headstone. Sorry for your loss man, but reading the posts from my fellow riders sure helped me.

So sorry to hear about Maggie. I'm sure she had a wonderful 16 yrs.

Sorry to hear about Maggie.
Look at the bright side.... She had a wonderful 16 years with you. Most dogs dont get that. Your's was lucky and had happy life.
My Bulldog is now 12 and we are not far from that point. It will be one of the hardest things for me.

Good point. Maggie had a really good run and our grief has been mitigated by knowing that. It's when you lose one unexpectedly that really hurts. We will always have dogs and we will grieve when they pass, but life without them is unimaginable.
