That's interesting

How would you account for the odd mixture of rim and tire size, it seems to have a 24" tire on a 26" rim ???

Cute, but I don't think the GVWR is going to allow for

I'd rather go with a Rokon.

Yep.  Ive seen those. For the man who wants the ultimate lightweight adventure bike ... and who is not in a hurry when he travels.

The motocross version looks like a rational alternative to a 50cc scooter.

The 125cc unit looks pretty interesting, they have decent bicycle components along with other bits, and cost less than a good mountain bike with largely Chinese sourced bits....

As a bike guy first and a motorcycle guy second, I love the motoped...

I will say before you buy a kit google terms like 'motoped bent crank arm' 'motoped wait time' 'motoped unhappy' or look at the facebook page 'motopeds uncensored'

The company has had a bear of a time filling orders and dealing with the volume... they have recently filed bankruptcy (again~ yes since the Kickstarter campaign) and a lot of people have been waiting on kits, parts, or pieces that were missing from their kits for nearly a year.

There is an ADV build thread called 'Whitey the Motoped' you should take a look at...  It did get built and looked stunning... But the builder ended up having to fabricate several pieces... waited on the rear hub for 6mos, etc... Then his crank promptly bent the first time he laid it on it's side (no side stand)

24" rear, 26" front IIRC

Gee, get rid of the motor and you'd have something there.

Why does all survivalist literature seem to boil down to an excuse to buy trucks, guns, toys, or some combination of the three?

You can improve the range if you remove the motor...

Or just carry those gas cans.   "400 miles without stopping" sounds like a Honda Super 90 with 4 gallons of gas on board ......

Can it be had with a sidecar?

Somehow I think either a Honda 90 or a bicycle would be better… A proper bicycle (with rider in good shape, there's the hitch) can go a long way on not much. And is easy to fix and much lighter than a moped. After The Apocalypse do you really thing there will be any fuel?  ::)

Personally not gonna worry about that. A smallblock Guzzi goes as far on a gallon of gas as a Pious and is far more involving and fun.

The good news is that "Yes, there will be fuel".

The bad news is that this is the guy you have to buy it from .....

Hmmmm. 400 miles at a max speed of 24MPH is a little shy of 17 hours. I think you'd need some really good bike shorts for that.
