This on Ebay, the rest is easy to find, the 'hard to find' parts are the front fender and the longer fork shrouds.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/221670066441?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Go for a pair of new Brembo calipers from MG Cycle and pair of floater rotors. MG Cycle can set you up with the front master cylinder and hoses

Buy a 850T, T3, G5 or convert front wheel,
for the rotor carriers this may work, email them to be sure

Or Moe at Cycle garden sell the second carrier

Is this ebay or Wildguzzi?
its wild guzzi and I thort id offer it here first. id rather buy from someone here than off ebay and im sure others would too
-
ok people may be better buying the one on ebay, but expect the bids to rise rapidly towards the end of the auction, the spend shitloads on whats missing
-
Sorry CRC I don't mean to hijack your offer, if you have a complete disc front end then it is likely the best way to go.
It will cost a fair amount to build a complete dual disc front end!
New rotors are $379+ a pair
http://www.mgcycle.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=110_134&products_id=2652
Calipers are $128+ a piece ( left and right needed)
http://www.mgcycle.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=110_115&products_id=834
Master cylinder $131.00
http://www.mgcycle.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=110_112&products_id=81
Hoses and fitting add in another $130.00
http://www.mgcycle.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=110_114&products_id=2664
http://www.mgcycle.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=110_114&products_id=2668
http://www.mgcycle.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=110_114&products_id=3153
Add in a good used front wheel $200?
Then the bearings and caliper mounts, another $300?
Now find a fender, fork shrouds, $400.00
Its going to be $1500 ~ $2000 to get it finished
Is it worth it????
If you want two finger breaking then....
Of course it's worth it  I wouldn't ride my Eldo any other way

I think what he means is that you've set up a hidden reserve auction here on WG. Some people see that as a misuse of the forum. That's what the classifieds are for.
People in the northern hemi need to think about the shipping and possible customs costs. Factor those in and the ebay stuff starts looking better.
-
how much non guzzi crap gets posted here?
-
ive had a couple of offers. you let me know how much you want it?
With each of your posts that don't have an asking amount I am less interested.
-
Nobody objects to something offered for sale here on WG. When it's a genuine thing, it's good for everyone. But generally when other crap is offered here for sale the seller says how much he wants for it, if not in the original post, then as soon as someone asks. They don't play coy little manipulative games about it. That's what's being objected to. If you got something to sell, tell us what you need for it. Otherwise, take your crap to ebay where playing off the members against each other is the norm.
-
I'm out. Too shifty for me. I always tried to deal here first because I assumed we were all honourable and straight up with each other. Times are changing,I guess.
-
Maybe some clear pictures and a definite, complete list of what you have on offer would result in a little more action?
I always thought if you want to catch a fish you gotta cut some bait?

read the description, it is complete as a single disc or minus second disc spacer for twin disc. offers mean I don't have a price in mind but I do know what it owes me
-
ok ill keep it
-
for anyone contemplating buying the one on ebay, look at whats missing and do your homework and sums on what its going to cost to complete, even if you can get sum of the bits that are nla. or keep your money and risk accident if you've got a 2ls loop.
-
how do you figure that dusty?
-

I sold me very nice 72 Eldo for $3000 to a Guzzi enthusiast, it owed me over $14,000.... was not going to get what it owed me, but it went to a good home, Ed Milich..... That is what we do. If I wanted to make the most money, I would put it on eBay, but I wanted it to be cared for and ridden by a guzzi guy, not hacked up or parted out for money. Just sayin
-
I meant nothing sinister by that statement dusty, just saying 2ls loops don't stop good. the problem with the internet is things get missconstrewed sp, more so on this site than others. you should all check out the facebook ducati bevel owners page, lots of shit given, nothing serious and no one takes offence or holds grudges, something that is a real problem on wildguzzi. I asked a simple question , I wanted offers for my front end. I was offered 900 odd us dollars buy one member here but he wanted me to pay shipping. I can sell front or back t3 wheels here for 500nz within hours of putting them up for sale, ive sold a few. my police dash cost me 530 odd us, and I know ill get my money back if I sell it. by asking for offers I was testing the waters to decide if I should break my eldo up, and in return I get accussed of being dodgy and manipulative. go figure

from his third message in this thread, I thought crc was behaving in way that would make me not want to do business with him. look at the tone of that post and most of the others since.
crc, think you are sitting on gold? fine, put it out there. your "marketing" skills are not helping your cause.
I have upgraded 2 Eldorado's over the years to disc front ends (my first back in 1979, and my current). There are very few unique parts needed, and some of those have substitutions if you are not an originalist. I imagine anyone who puts floating rotors on the front of an Eldo isn't as well.

that stuff is for the 195mm front ends on the mid 70's touring guzzis, Eldos have 215mm (center to center) front ends. You need a 10mm spacer or fatter rotor-to-bearing flange for each rotor.

I remember seeing a pic of one of your eldos with a t front end on it mike, it looked like crap in my eyes, just sayin

look closer it was an eldo disc front end with a T front fender, but then you know it all don't you...

ive seen one of your bikes with t triple clamps over the years. I don't know it all, but caveit emptor for those planning to disc their eldo there are many specific parts to a disc eldo front end, not like mike says very few. and why run a t fender mike.? and please don't get nasty just coz you've got half the American guzzi owners behind you
-

"American" again, is it?
We've been there before.

theres a lot of wankers on this forum lannis. I admit im one of them

I built my Eldo dual disc starting with an original disc brake front fender and a pair of the longer fork shrouds, everything else can be bought new, the elusive second rotor carrier is available from Moe at Cycle Garden. The fender brackets are available from MG Cycle , you can use a later model Cali for the rear bracket. Call Mark at Moto Guzzi Classics for a good used 850T or T3 front wheel. The guys at MG Cycle set me up with new wheel bearings, calipers and master cylinder (almost as cheap as refurbishing old beaters), floater rotors because they are far better performers than the iron rotors, new brake hoses because used originals will be finished by now, and a new rotor bolt kit.
Money can be saved by salvaging a pair of 850T3 rotors, caliper and wheel, again I suggest giving Moto Guzzi Classics a call.
Gregory Bender's This Old Tractor has a fully detailed section on fitting dual discs.
-
and the cost to do that jim? you don't mention new springs or dampers?
-
and the cost to do that jim? you don't mention new springs or dampers?
Well.. a lot.... I rode my Eldorado for a couple months with the stock 2LS brakes and stock suspension, I had been riding my R1150RT with power ABS for a long time and got used to really strong braking capability. Riding the Eldo at highway speed on rough roads and trying to haul the Eldo down from 70mph was an eye opener. I really love riding the Eldo but I want the security of modern brakes and the comfort of a smooth suspension.
When I got started on the disc conversion I read up on This Old Tractor on converting to FAC dampers and dove in to the deep end. The conversion to FAC and progressive springs is in my opinion as big an improvement as the disc brakes. My Eldorado is my main ride, the Beemer just gathers dust now.
My 2 cents on disc conversions; 40 year old calipers, master cylinder, brake hoses, wheel bearings, head stock bearings are probably due for the bin. Budget on new brake parts, the 'used' parts value is in the fender, the fork shrouds, bearing carriers, wheel. If the used brake parts are in good condition all the better. Low end budget for new bearings, brake pads, caliper and master cylinder rebuild kits and replacement brake hoses $450.00 / high end new calipers, rotors and master cylinder add another $800.00.
Suspension - FAC dampers are $290.00, Progressive Springs $128, a lathe is required to machine the FAC tops to fit in the Eldo fork tubes. If you can do it yourself the suspension upgrade is under $500.00
Full blown cost disc conversion and suspension upgrade, $2200 +/-
It ain't cheap, but I don't regret having done it, I have blown more money on bikes and gotten a lot less.
-
And the beat goes on........ :winer
Mark
-
Where did you buy the dampers and springs?
-
I got mine at MG Cycle.
Cheers,
Shaun
Edit: Tom Halchuck and I were working on this at the same time, and he did this great write-up for Greg Bender's site:
http://www.thisoldtractor.com/moto_guzzi_loopframe_disc_brake_-_installing_fac_dampers_into_original_disc_brake_forks.html (http://www.thisoldtractor.com/moto_guzzi_loopframe_disc_brake_-_installing_fac_dampers_into_original_disc_brake_forks.html)
Jim Carey added some great updates.

Dang. And here I thought I was the only to've gone that far. I do believe I pioneered this back in about 2002 or so and have done it two different ways. Yes, the FACs and progressive springs really are worth it. Still. I wanted better.
I've since replaced my FAC-equipped Eldo forks with up=side-downers from a V11 Sport, though. That's much better.

Hmmm?? Notice any difference between Lannis' post and CRC's post?? All those blue banners in the upper left corner of Lannis' and that lonely 4 year old blue banner on CRC's. I'm just sayin'...
I'm not saying that everyone has to donate...not at all. But if you want to use the forum to "test the waters" for items for sale you'd consider a donation.

Thanks! I worked very hard to make it so, and to avoid permanent alterations to any of the stock parts—either Eldo or V11 Sport.

greg, any chance of a step-by-step on how you did the v11 front end conversion? Or is it classified information?

That should be Shirley. ;D
Also, the comma is missing. Should read "Shirley, the dog's dangles."
Also, Greg -- that bike needs a more attractive tail light, on account of that's as much of it as anyone ever gets to see on a ride. :bike

greg, any chance of a step-by-step on how you did the v11 front end conversion? Or is it classified information?
Not classified at all, but it was a metric shit-ton of work. I used nothing but hand tools to do it, but a lathe might come in handy. If you want to talk sometime, I can outline the major steps, to the best of my memory, but I have to warn you that my memory is somewhat compromised these days after a stroke I had last year. It's all do-able, though, if you can gather all the parts.
-
Greg -you've got me thinking that I should keep the Showa stuff left over from my V11 Ohlins conversion. What spoked wheel did you use on yours?
-
Front wheel's from an '03 EV. My V11 front end was a leftover from an Ohlins conversion, too.

Eeeks! Have you totally recovered? I had noticed that you kind of dropped off the motorcycle world for a while. Best of luck from Dorcia and me.
