Getting serious cabin fever. Who has snow on the ground? Who doesn't?
Thanks
Nick

About 18" and expecting 4-6" more tonight.

Around here it is sold in paper cones with flavored syrup.

We have had no snow since a smattering before T-giving. The lake hasn't frozen enough for skating, although this week we're headed to a freeze of sorts -- down to daytime +teens on Friday. But the pattern is dry until the weekend -- tune in for maybe a snow report then. Mostly we've been in +30s-50's for the winter.

About 3 foot deep in our yard surrounded by woods in Hubbardston MA.

Not enough! Got a inch of fluffy powder last night but hardly any base under that. Mpls, mn

Here in north central CT. Maybe 20" , more over the weekend and maybe another big storm Monday. Snowblowers are a gift from the gods.

Nick - from what I've seen from you a little snow doesn't stop you.......
In NE Ohio we have about a foot with more currently happening.

I appreciate the sentiment Mark , but I'm not entirely daft. I'm just trying to get a handle on how far south I'd have to trailer the bikes before we hit snow/ice free roads. Seems like quite a way!

No snow in the District of Columbia

:+=copcar no snow but a lot of bs

In the last 10 days, we've had four snowstorms totaling 55 inches, and it has been cold enough that it isn't going away at all. It's going to be a long time before the grass is bare again! We had a couple of big snowstorms in the fall, but not much through Dec and through the last week of Jan, and the ground was bare as of the 27th. I've probably seen more on the ground than we have now, but I can't remember it!
-
Yep.
-
North end of lower peninsula (MI) not very much. Less than normal. West end of UP (MI) a whole bunch!
-
Chicago - 20" this week
-
I'm just down the road from Nic. Officially, we've gotten 54 inches in the past week and a half with more due in tomorrow.
On a good note; today is the day that the average daily high starts going up. It been at 33 F since January 6, abut as of today, the average high is 34 F. And in a week, it'll be 35 F!
Spring is coming!
-
We just had our 5th heaviest snow on record here in Chicago. Only 19", but it snowed another inch yesterday, and another today, and more on the forecast.
Perhaps I should not keep a loaded weapon in the house?

Well, you *are* in Chicago, so I'd say it's about 50-50.. <shrug>

Eastern PA checking in. What was snow is now ice. What's piled up is a dirty frozen mess. Made one step from our walk onto the blacktop parking & went down like a . . like a. . . it was soo fast. nothing broken, nothing bruised, just lucky.
Hate that stuff.
The first snowfall is pretty, but after that I'm praying for 60degree temps.
-
No snow here at 4,440 feet altitude in N.Utah. Should have at least a foot and a half or more on the ground. So nice I'm heading out to Nevada to fish for 3 days. Temps supposed to be in the 60's over weekend. Current pic attached

Too much today. Men's Super G canceled in wind, snow, low visibility.

's'no concerne of mine. Today was a two wahine day.

Nothin on the left coast. Went for a ride today, cloudy and 9 (celsius). Been a really nice mild winter so far.

Coast of MA just north of Boston. Something like 3' with more on the way.
BTW, ever noticed that no one refuses to use a snowblower because of it's "carbon footprint"?

Balmy Alaska. Well that kills the stereotype.

Nic- just next door in North Brookfield and like you, we have just about enough to get interesting. Was helping my son move into an apartment in oakham this past weekend, it was cold enough to make Florida seem reasonable. ;D
-
not much snow.. less than a foot.
Keep thinking that the highway out front is bare. All I need to do is lower the bike off it's winter rack, trailer it to the bottom of the driveway, and let loose with tires cooled to the -30C air temp.
If this scenario is in place by the end of March: it's all worth it.
-
I'm @70 miles north of Chicago (across the WI state line) and I'd ball park our total at 2 feet. My little 2 stroke, 4 HP Toro snow blower has been worth it's weight in gold the last few days.
-
A few more inches last night. My wife on the tractor early this morning. Joy does a lot of the snow plowing and mowing....Woman's work ;D

Snow? Haven't seen any all year in Charlotte.

As Crusty said, we had more snow in the last 10 days than is in the snowbank. It was all pretty fluffy so it compacted. Now it's a hard to move pack. Very tough driving this morning but only 3-4 more inches, more to come this weekend. May spring for a plow for my F150 next season. Nic
-
26" inches on the ground now and 3 or 4" expected by the weekend
makes the walks in the woods difficult
-
Oh look it's snowing…...
-
Damn near snowless winter here (like last year). Pretty mild winter (unlike last year). But we just got 3" or so the other day. Our snowblower-tractor is gathering dust (like last year) and our newly-purchased walk-behind snowblower ditto. Sooner or later we'll need 'em, out here in our rural digs. I am so ready to fire up the Breva.
-
We got a little..

Thanks folks. It doesn't seem as though driving south to ride is much of a viable option.
I guess we'll just have to find some other way to amuse ourselves.......... ...

It's pretty thin up here in Northeastern MN.

We're dwo for a foot or two starting twonight, maybe. It will be our first for the year. The lake has frozen enough to skid a widgeon, but not a swan. We wait until a swan goes azz-over-teakettle on landing before we try skating on it.

Saw some visiting mom in Colorado over a year ago. Miss the white stuff. Palm trees are happy and various stuff blooming in Sugar Land, TX

Time to shovel the deck

Make sure the grill is shoveled out first

Now shovel the roof of the guzzi cave

Well thanks folks, you helped me make up my mind.
I booked a flight to the UK today for two weeks of hiking, rough camping and beer drinking
followed by a week of riding around visiting friends and relatives on a rented Royal Enfield. :bike
It's a hard life, but someone has to live it. ;-T

It must be grim in Ontario if winter in the UK is an upgrade.
Here the temps are only in the low 20s. It's been trying to snow, but without any enthusiasm. What little there is is sticking to the sides of houses and such because of the wind. Juneau recorded gusts of 114mph, and the rest of the region went 75 - 90 for the record. We're supposed to get a fast foot or so and then a faster thaw over the weekend -- typical 'cold snap' for the region.

Have fun Nick old man . Any chance this will be a busman's holiday ?
Dusty
Not in the traditional sense, so no grubbing about in the dirt.
I may take the occasional picture and draft a note or two though :o ..............or more likely, note a few drafts

around 5 inches here in central WI. just barley enough to keep the Nordic XC-skiing trails open. Wishing for more snow here!
-
S. Az. 0" 75-80 and not a cloud to be seen! homes are very cheap in Green Valley.

Rochester, NY Today sunny and warm mid 70s. Tomorrow a little warmer with mild southern breezes. Great day for a long ride. Then I woke up. :-\

No, thank goodness.

I was going to brag about no shoveling today, but then did some clean up in prep for 12-18" coming over the next 2 days. Running out of room to put the stuff in towns here - front loaders now hauling it out. Kind of fun so long as the heat stays on (and you have a roof over your head).
-
Snow on the sides of houses this week, but due to the wind, none on the ground. Today we got an apathetic attempt to whiten it up, but it's more like sprinkles on a cupcake than real snow. We did get the first round of skaters on the lake this morning. The city puts up temporary stadium lights so the kids can keep at it all night.
In the interior they're beginning to complain. I guess they all put their snowshoes on in September and it's getting awkward walking around in them.
