we all know the Daytona, I've been smitten since I first saw one. this one has just come up for sale and is at what I think is a fare price. Victorian bike 15 K ( for Australia )
Decisions - Decisions ...... if i buy something like this locally, its going to blow my plans to travel to the US or Canada and do a Buy-Ride Tour.
The Aussie $ has gone down a lot in the last few months so the bikes over there are getting more expensive by the day !
Maybe a Daytona and another local trip is what I need ?

Good that you're not thinking of buying one in the US because that is how I ended up getting my RS. The previous owner thought he could bring it in and a year later he finally gave up.
-
I see nothing but a photo in your link. Yea I know the bike, it's a red Daytona RS...
-
North America will always be here.
;D
:bike :bike :bike :bike

Haha yes it is the Red one , I didn't notice that. :D
Hard , for me anyway, to find a link to that page. I think this one works

with that mileage and price I say buy it, it will be a good investment
-
If you buy one locally you'll get the full welly C kit machine, the USA got the watered down A kit motor.
-
Only 308 of those built, so you may not get another chance anytime soon.
-
I checked out the production numbers on the below topic which says only 195 daytona's for that year, is that bikes delivered to the usa that year ?

I cannot remember the exact number but only a few Daytona RS models were imported into the US. 10-20?

No personal knowledge, but I have always heard 34 RSs came to the USA.
-
34 is the number I was given by the importer back in 2000. (back when you could call their 1-800 number and get a person on the other end of the phone.)
-
It's only 34 because no one in the US wanted one at that time. Even in our small country there still are still 16 Daytona RS. Next to 42 Daytona 1000

Finally heard back from the owner, 6 other guys were fighting over the bike, the winner paid a lot more than the asking price. :'(
I had no space in the lounge room for it anyway :D
Thanks for your help
