Title: HD+M on ebay
Post by: Mike E on February 07, 2015, 10:42:13 AM
Anyone here familiar with this bike or owner? Miles seem low for a 17 yo bike. Nicely set up. Clean. Buy it now way too high. What do you think it might sell for?

Think it's this:

"Never been dirty."  Sad.  Near shameful.    ;)

Hope it finds a real -- and worthy -- owner.

Mine comes off the lift today.  Yes, finally.

Cleaned it, too, but not spa-like detailed as I want to ride it on some mild days ahead.

It's been dirty, and will be again.  Soon.   :D

Yes that's the one. There is also a Hydro 03 listed currently as well with no info about things anyone should really know about before bidding.

Is it the 03 aluminum all banged up in pacoima? That was my bike. Gosh it was awesome until I wrecked it, twice. I wouldn't buy it,

The first accident wasn't bad, cosmetic. That's the right hand dent tank. The second was worse, bike ended up upside down , was running that way for a good few minutes too while I was picking myself up off the curb, I stumbled and eventually found the off switch. It was smoking quite bad and I imagine some damage was done to the engine.

Gosh it was awesome.

Oh yeah, and the ODO stopped working on that bike about 35k miles ago too.

Damn.  Probably five miles from me, and I've never seen it!

Guzzis (and thier owners) are funny like that.

Asking a lot of money for it.  The bike would be mighty interesting to me at about half that.

$6500 for a HD and mustard!!!  It could be 0 miles, and he's not going to pull $6500!   $3500 Sounds about right to me.

What kind of shield does he have on that thing, looks like a sport but mounted too high up.

Gee, don't get Bill and Muley riled up about them!

Along these lines.. caution, thread drift.. the Larry, the Tower controller at Anderson airport had been watching a guy that was working on a Piper Apache down in one of the hangers for *years.* To make a long story short, he asked the guy if he'd sell it. The guy thought about it a bit, and said, "Yeah, 20K." Larry said it was probably worth it but couldn't come up with that much for it. Said call him if he decides to sell it for less.
About a week later, the guy called Larry and said, "You still want it? I've realized that I'm not going to live long enough to get it back into the air. You can have it for two thousand."  :o

Yeah, it took Muley years to get that bike sorted out. I believe Wayne was a lot of help on that.

That '04 EV Touring is certainly in fine shape.  If I were looking for one (the two Stones are quivering in the garage at the mere thought I'd abandon them) and if the recalls/inspections were proven done, I'd be inclined to go the $5K buy it now.  Yes, I might get it for $4500, but over the years one keeps a good Guzzi, the $500 savings is not materially significant.  And, this one is really well-equipped and in apparently as new condition.  Plus, factory tubeless wheels, fully adjustable suspension and the dual front discs, the 2 Stones have a right to be shaking...
