Homeland Security saw a couple of opinions on there that they didn't like, and deleted the threads.   They're coming after the posters next.   If someone's missing from here, we'll know what happened.

Check in with us this evening, if you can .....

I'm surprised that it lasted as long as it did.

The one that freaked me out the most was the one episode where Burgess plays a spooky Linotype setter for a failing newspaper - He makes up and prints terrible news .... then the events happen!   :o

Linotype, one of the most complicated mechanical devices ever made! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avDuKuBNuCk

(footnote: the Linotype typesetters for the newspapers had young helpers call "Devil Helpers")

He was a smart guy, Dusty.  At the very least, he could have made a pair of pinhole spectacles to see in the daytime, and then eventually figured out how to come up with something better.  There, no more freaking out for you.

I loved Linotype machines. When I edited my high school paper I went to the printer every Wednesday afternoon to close the pages. The Linotype operators were hefty cigar-smoking union guys -- had to be strong to lift the magazines of brass type forms into place and reload the lead pigs.  I may be the last guy in the U.S. who learned a Linotype keyboard.  Not qwerty.  It was etaion shrdlu.

Oh, and the machines stank of hot oil and melted lead. And cigars.
