All,
Just shaking my head and glad I did not ride to Galveston recently:

Glad the police did their job and bagged them all, and nobody was killed.
I heard there will be some nice sport bikes at auction soon as several were confiscated.
Ride safe!

I doubt if they'll be "nice sport bikes".
Probably extended-swingarm, open-piped, out-of-tune pieces of crap that make about half the horsepower that they made when they were new. That's generally what I see here. I can't believe that the riders think that these shrill, breaking-up-at-RPMs bikes are somehow "tuned up" .... ?

that was some good news!

when the driver tried to flee on foot, three motorists pulled over to help the officer subdue and arrest him.
"They (motorists) were quite upset and didn't want them to get away,"
And THIS, my friends, is why I'm so fond of Texans.

I think they were from Sugarland, well Houston at least. ~;
It's amazing how foolish people act when they're away from home.

Lannis, Dave, etal:
Surely you speak truth. Wow.
Commute home tonight from work to Sugar Land: guy went nuts on freeway after driving erratic and police lighted him up. Driver crashed into center median, got out of car, ran, was hit by lady, and killed. Freeway shut down as they scraped the mess up. I had to exit early with insane Houston drivers, and wow I just want to call it quits with this place. Sheesh. Insane.

great deal here..... 90% opinion and 10% facts.
not sayin' you're wrong, jus sayin'

idiots. I feel for their pillions

What is so sad about a bunch of traffic morons getting arrested? It sounds like cause for celebration to me.
Kudos to the civilians who helped catch fugitives.

I get the feeling there are a lot of ex-girlfriends today. It's one thing to enjoy the ride on your spray tan douchebag squid boyfriend's Gixxer or Hayabusa... and another to hang on for dear life during a high speed police chase.

They could convert them into mobility scooters for disabled folk like me.

this went from bikers to squids......
funny how we can take one paragraph sketchy description and project all of our feelings about different groups of riders that we don't like.
;D

If you stopped reading at the first paragraph, yes. If you read the entire news piece, it's got everything needed to draw a reasonable conclusion, except where Brian Williams was sitting when the second squid high-sided.

Yep. Reads fairly straightforward. They make it easy to be critical of the behavior they exhibit. No interpretation necessary.

Yeah, but all the bikers/squids/hipsters were Texans, too.
...and got run down by good citizen Texans. They were very lucky there were no Texas rangers involved- cause they sure don't put up with such shenanegans.
My point is that the other motorists were not deer in the headlight observers- their instinct was to pull over and jump in as active citizens. That's commendable in its own right.

Take the bikes and the license! If they were legal in the first place. Don't let them ride or drive anything for a while.
See it all the time in KC. Once saw a head above the center wall on I-35 going the other way. Turns out the rider was not only wheelie, but standing on the bike.
Wheres Darwin when you need him?
-
The sad fact is that nothing short of prison or death will stop some of these people from riding.
We used to have one of these unsavory characters in our riding group that was like the turd we just couldn't flush away. He would pull wheelies down the berm and scare everyone in the group, then he would terrorize drivers and attract police attention to us. He even ran from the cops on group rides. And the reason he did this? Mostly so that people would confront him about it. Once someone did he would get off talking about how big his dick was, how inferior your bike was to his and then try to pick a fight.
