so i have to repaint my 77 lemans and was thinking about colors other than the stock red (sorry Aaron). was thinking about gloss black for the red areas with satin black where it would be stock or gloss black with white 750s stripes, id keep the dayglo orange on the fairing tho. kinda stuck on the color black...for now
thx

Hey, it's your bike now! It should look the way you want it to look.
I do have a soft spot for original paint, and a second preference for original color schemes, but again, that's no reason not to do what you like.
-
stock isnt out of the question, but I've always liked black. and, once its painted its not original anymore, at that point i can always go stock if i restore the rest of the bike

on a side not the jacket you gave has saved me on these freezing days. had a bunch of exterior shoots this winter and that is the warmest jacket I've ever worn. thx so much for it

I like your idea a Black Lemans will be cool.. I sorta thought about doing that too..

go with green

^^^
That looks great!

You don't like it, you can always paint it again. Any color you paint it, it's never going to be the original paint.
-
That green Spot-funny, I replaced the LeMans with a black Spot!

Ok, no idea why the pic doesn't show.
Worked it out.

I saw an LM1 that someone painted yellow, but kept the black accents on the tank just like stock. It really looked good!

Way back when I painted mine black with the green 750S stripes. Maybe I shoulda painted the frame a different color; too much black.

If you ask me , nothing better than red/black stock paint scheme.
how about keep the original body work aside and use aftermarket body work to re paint it ?
Is the original body that bad that need painting or you just want to chance color ?

I was thinking of doing a reversed out paint on my 77. A metallic black tank with red on top and bottom, of course black fenders and side covers.
-
How bout Tenni matt Green and black like the Griso se

My favorite Le mans color scheme is Sovoia Blue and black. I think it was only for the European market. Beautiful blue.
Not sure how to post a pic.
