Title: efi issue
Post by: redrooster on March 02, 2015, 11:09:31 PM
Good morning all from a chilly England.
I have an option to buy a 2003 Guzzi Breva 750.
The only issue is the guy saysit has a fault with the efi flickering every now and then. He says he has been told its possibly the lamda sensor playing up. Which should be an easy and cheapish fix. My concern would be an ecu issue. Not cheap. Tbh I am not keen buying it like this. It is reasonably priced at £1600. 18000 miles. Your thoughts please!!!!

On the early ones there was an issue with the routing of the wiring from the phase sensor, it went too close to the LH coil and caused issues with the EFI light.

Re-route the cable and have the patch uploaded. Job done.

Yes, there was a tech bulletin on rerouting the cable, and also a map change to reduce the light from coming on.
If the bike runs well i wouldn't worry.
