I love speeding
On my wife's red Vespa
Open-face lid
Wind in my gray beard
Wide-open throttle
Weaving in and out
Dodging big boxes with wheels
Feeling much younger than 57 years
Spring is in the air
And my Norge is waiting for me at home

If you are speeding it must be a 250IE. When I was working on them I would say not to take any pics of me, or tell anyone I was riding it.

2011 Norge with bags and top case on private runway 140 indicated. ;D

Riding one of those things is like doing a really fat girl.
It feels good if your friends don't see you do it.

I'm too old to care what others think, and riding her Vespa really is great fun. I even wave at motorcyclists--and they wave back!
By the way, it's a 2015 Sprint 150 ABS, wth the new three-valve engine.

If you absolutely must ride a scooter, Vespa is the only one. And relative by merger and acquisition.
I did spend a week with a Piaggio MP3 500 some years back. Strangest thing I've ever ridden or driven. Power of a V50 with the weight of a 1000 Le Mans but it got up to freeway speed pretty well and could hold a helmet and a bunch of other stuff under the seat. Way better than the old beater 2-stroke Vespa I once rode around a parking lot, mostly in terror at it's dubious handling and worse brakes. Still, the scooter riding position doesn't do it for me. ymmv…

I prefer riding motorcycles, but anything with two wheels is fun. Today was a good day on the Vespa. (I need to keep its battery charged!)

57 doesn't just feel young. It is barely post-adolescent.

I ride my wife's de-restricted Aprilia SR50, 50 mph with me on it and I'm not a waif... Also used to own a Gilera SR180, the looks on drivers faces as you accelerated past them up the slip road onto the A14, pricelss

Ah, neat scooter!! Bout 6yrs ago was the 1st time on one since I got off the Cushman in 68'. Shop rules was if you prepped one or wrenched on it, you had to test ride it. The stuff has come a long way, I was surprised. Kind of tense going 90 on one w/small wheels. Vespa been making some cool motors, like the 4V 50cc. Too bad they don't bring in the 850 to the US.

My wife rides a Piaggio BV500. That rascal will get up a head of steam!

Love scooters. Love speeding. My favorite hobby.

I had to sell my Vespa 250IE in 2009 in order to get my new V7C. I was told by my "financial officer" I couldn't have both . The Vespa was a daily driver and would SCOOT!. Drawback and decision to go back to a motorcycle was at highway speed just too light and the buffeting didn't do it for me. Around town? (most of my driving) a BLAST. I NEVER felt self conscious , just the opposite I felt cool(Talkin' bout my generation!) I am 63 now.

I much prefer motorcycles for longer, faster rides. However, my commute to work is two miles, from a residential part of Lake Oswego to downtown Lake Oswego. Riding in the residential part is fine, but riding in downtown Lake Oswego can be very frustrating on a motorcycle. When it is clogged with traffic, I can jog or ride a bicycle faster than traffic is moving. On a motorcycle, I often have to feather the clutch and cannot even get into first gear! With the scooter, it is as easy as walking. No bucking and lurching, no overheating, no complaining clutch...

Surely you know speeding leads to other bad behavior!

My exGF has a vespa LX150. Really fun machine. No doubt about it.
Anyone who doubts that Vespa people have more fun- check out this clip

So there is a banked, bricked test track on the roof?! What a neat thing to see. Thanks.

Looks like a prison break now!
