First of all I want to thank everyone that answered all my dumb newby questions over the winter as I rebuilt and modified my Centauro.
I just got back from its maiden ride and am fairly happy with the results.
Having the reach of a small child it seems that the bars are in another county and I may take the seat to be modified so that I can comfortably sit a bit bit further forward.
I had the front forks rebuilt and although they are not set up perfectly for the bike or my weight, they are a huge improvement over what I started with.
The rear shock is another case. It looks to have been rebuilt at least once and is showing signs of leaking, none of the adjustments seem to do anything at all and I am left with a pretty hash ride.
The Creedon Chip seems to make a big difference. The stock pipes feel a bit restricted, can anyone speak to that?
So now my shopping list consists of the following:
1. Brighter headlight
2. New Rear Shock
3. A set of more free flowing pipes
Can anyone help with advice or personal experience on the above 3 items?
Thanks Again
Mark

The shock is a top quality item, I'd have it rebuilt again. Wills chip will work just fine with the stock exhaust. That said I'm running a stucchi crossover, termi mufflers and no airbox with K&N filters on velocity stacks. Checkout the Centauro owners group forum. Tons of good information there.

Go with a full Staintune exhaust. The bike deserves it. ;-T
The WP rear shock is a nice unit. Same as on my Sport 1100, and it's been real good for me.

stock silencers are fine upto 7000 rpm. The stock crossover is not so good. The shock should not be bad, might need service after so many years. What is your weight?

210 I replaced the stock x-over with a Mistral one already, was just wondering how restrictive the stock mufflers were.

I put a staintune on mine, it ran and sounded fantastic.

The colostomy bag is the biggest bottleneck in the exhaust. You've already addressed that. Back in the day, a common mod was to punch the front baffle of the stockers with about a 1/2 to 5/8" diameter punch. Doesn't make it too loud, either. The mods Turin posted were very common to get it running well. Most bikes with them would dyno around 95 hp.

I've got a set of m4 cans that I could be tempted to part with. I've decided nothing looks as good as a set of bubs on mine

Hi Mark,
You mentioned having the forks rebuilt, where did you get this done? More importantly, how about some information about the seals and bushings that were used as WP parts, for these forks, are apparently NLA :pop As mentioned, the rear is a quality WP unit and is completely rebuildable/adjustable.
I have Agostini pipes on mine, it sounds glorious and with 'baffels' removed is a real head turner.
Agreed,Will's chip is a massive improvement and now I am in the middle of building the Cliff Jefferies MyECU.
As Turin mentiond check out the the COG.

Can't help much with the seat, I actually like the stock seat... 300 miles no problem. The headlight is weak compared to modern vehicles, let me know if you find something better. If you don't have the Centauro service DVD, I highly recommend it, and it's got a section about EFI setup. If the DVD is no longer available, let me know I'll make a copy for you. As for the pipes, I have a set os Staintune SS pipes (just the silencers) in excellent condition if you're interested. Send PM if you have any other questions. I got fork seals from MPH, but that was a couple of years ago. Enjoy the Centauro and get ready for a lot of "what's that?" from other riders.
