Title: Hello from MPH Cycles
Post by: Larry_77084 on March 12, 2015, 02:03:50 PM
OK, as most of you know by now, Todd Haven is no longer with us.  As you can imagine his passing has been devastating to MPH as well as friends and family.  Here at MPH we are slowly gathering up the reins and getting back on track.  One of the things missing is Todd's presence on here.  I would like to try and fill in where he left off.

Some of you know me, some of you may have heard about me, but I am the tech at MPH Cycles.  I have been for the past 3 years.  From this point forward I will take Todd's place and answer questions, provide documentation and be your contact for any parts you may need.  We have re-established our relationship with Hepco Becker, Twisted Throttle, and such so we have access to all of the resources that were available when Todd was with us.  Feel free to ask me anything you would have asked Todd, I can't promise his wit but I'll try.

Thanks for reading this.

I should add my email here is larry@mphcycles.com

Well, thanks for update. I was just thinking if we would hear from one of the best dealers in USA on the forums again. I know Mike must be real busy nowadays.

Great news.  MPH has been good to me; I am glad to see the business carry on.

Good luck in your new position.

No firm news as is usual. I would venture to guess a late summer release . We dont get any big secrets from PGA about the future, our orders are for the next qtr only, thats as far as we are informed. And my Q2 order doesnt show any V7 2 listed

Todd is missed.

Would it be too soon to quip that you have "a big Shoe to fill?"

Best of luck and looking forward to dealing with you.

Larry,

Glad you are here!  Todd was not only a great MPH worker-owner, he was a friend.  He gave me a lot of wise advice about Moto Guzzis and the V7R in particular.

"Only gets better up to 10,000 miles" and "sportbike for old men":  absolute truth.

You may have worked on my bike:  2012 V7R, No. 181, otherwise known as "little goose".  Say hi to Mike for me and tell him he needs to drink more Stella Artois and also ride more.

cheers,
Greg Brown

Damn, Chuck, now I'm all misty eyed. Todd, whom I never met, reached out to me at times of loss and I will never forget him for that.

He was a good guy, and remembered by many. After all, what more can we wish to have from a life well lived?

Hey Larry,
Glad you chimed in.

Larry rides as well as he wrenches, (quite well).  I have plenty of experience chasing and watching him disappear in the curves ahead of me on his V11.

I never met Todd but his posts were always interesting and appreciated. But as already said, be Larry and carry on. Just you posting in already big positive for the future of Guzzis and MPH. Good luck and carry on.

Larry, do you have room for big truck parking? As in a semi tanker truck. We have a couple of customers in Houston,  so I may get down there soon. Need to stop in the Woodlands truck stop and pick up some fine cigars too. Really want to stop into MPH and meet ya'll.

Larry, if you're stepping in for brother Todd, you'll need to start off with: a healthy mistrust of authority, a sense of humor as dry as West Texas, and a finely tuned BS meter.

How's Nero doing?
Title: Re: Hello from MPH Cycles
Post by: Larry_77084 on March 12, 2015, 10:10:55 PM
Nero moved in with Todd's brother Guy and still keeps watch over things at the shop every day.

Nice to see you posting here Larry (& Mike again).

I may just have to swing by the shop this weekend and bring Rubio to play with Nero for a bit...it's been a while since the 2 labs got to play together.

Another fine commendation for MPH, Mike and Larry who have respectively sold and serviced my Norge for the last 5 years...top notch as always!

Now...I wonder if I should add that nice Red/copper colored Griso to the stable...hhmmm!  :)

If a broken down old tramp on a Harley Sportster happened to stop in, this summer, would you sell him a pocket T-shirt?

Glad you chimed in.

He can do that on a GS as well.  Two up.

Got any of those new Moto Guzzi modular helmets with built-in Bluetooth? I should have grabbed one at Daytona this week. $499 show special!

I guess I should have sounded the "Sarcasm Alert" We don't stock much in the way of life style stuff most of that just hangs around reminding us that Italian sizes are much different than American sizes.
