A lot of blokes, myself included, have bought Onur's mounting ring and a a Givi bag. I got the larger of the two 'Semi-rigid' bags, (The 604?) and reckon it's great for everyday running around. The factory bag is much larger but its a real pain in the arse with its straps and zip that have to be undone to remove it or even to refuel, (Quite a frequent occurrence on Griso!). With the Givi system clipping the bag on and off is instant and while mine is 'Small' it's quite large enough for what I usually carry when simply pottering around.

Givi don't make a mounting ring to fit Griso which is where Onur has stepped up to the plate. Some people who bought one of the very first run he made found that they had to enlarge one or two of the mounting holes but mine, which must of been a 2nd generation one, fits perfectly.

It's rare for me to buy something and find it actually exceeds my expectations and while the 'Tanklock' concept is obviously Givi's it is Onur who has actually gone to the bother of making the ring to fit Griso as Givi haven't bothered for such a limited market. I really can't recommend it highly enough.

If you visit the linked thread on the Ghetto there is another link to a fleabay site where you can purchase the 'Other bit' that is on the bag so a Tanklock can be installed on your pre-existing luggage. I haven't bothered, yet, but I think Beetle is already beavering away at fitting one to his 'Factory' bag to increase carrying capacity and ease of use.

Luggage is something I've been trying to 'Perfect' for my Griso. Quite simply I'm not smart enough to pack down to the minimalist level of someone like Daniel Kalal, (Believe me, I've tried! I'm just too hopeless to achieve it! ::) ;D) but with the tail bag Bill recently sent me very kindly and Onur's ring and my Givi bag I reckon I'm within a bee's dick of my ideal set-up.

Pete

PS. The Givi tank bag I have also has a QD 'Pocket' on the top ideal for my Samsung tablet which makes it perfect for data logging runs when gathering info for Beetle. Great for a blind old fart like me as it means I can just glance down for a moment rather than taking my eyes off the road for any length of time to squint at a phone! What's not to like?
