Title: You go Griso!
Post by: Moto on March 15, 2015, 07:20:36 PM
Yesterday it got to 65 degrees with sunny skies here in Wisconsin so I went for a ride.

I took a favorite "alphabet road" back to town, one that has had warning signs about bumpy pavement for the last two or three years. This winter's frost heaves made it even worse, and I found myself getting bumped out of the seat a bit while the Griso bucked back and forth going at a good pace over the winding road, with me picking my way in the wheel tracks through the piled up sand and salt. The bike felt really solid and well controlled. I got all misty thinking of old times blasting down dirt tracks in Idaho. After a while I took a look at the speedometer, expecting to see 60 mph or so.

It read 80!

You go Griso!

P.S. Happy Spring!

I got my new Stelvio out briefly today as it was 2C (35F), and sunny.  A bit cold, but glorious -- what a bike!  Tomorrow, we are expecting 13C  (56F), and I'm thinking about riding in shorts!

Glad you got out for a ride.

Ran the Aero Lario through the first three gears at WOT for the first time.  ~; Kinda surprised me, and slid me back on the seat. Don't know how fast I was going, the speedo only goes to 80..  :D Note to self.. better get a rev limiter.
Took Rosie out for her first putt of the season, too. Life is good.

That sounds like "takeoff power" . Do you think it'll redline the tach in 5th?

Weather so mild this year I never stopped ridding.  Haven' had enough snow to even be a worry, and heated gear lets me in the teens without too much suffering.

Oh, I wouldn't think so. <shrug> Way too early in it's life to be finding out. Haven't even done a plug chop to make sure it isn't too lean at WOT.
