Title: Centauro First Gear
Post by: Brooksr13 on March 16, 2015, 04:59:03 PM
I will admit that I am relatively new to the Guzzi world but every bike I have owned has always clicked, snapped, clunked, dropped etc into first gear from neutral.

My Centauro gives no indication at all that I am in first gear, I push down on the lever and its magically in first gear.  No positive reinforcement.  Is this just a Centauro/Guzzi thing or do I have something going on in my tranny??

Thanks

Mark

It might be "broken in".  How much mileage on the bike?  One of the other guys can drop in on this but it sound okay to me.

when you tow up can you feel it slip into neutral?  I wouldn't be worried if it shifts fine.. pretty sure it's the same 5 speed as all Guzzi's of that era.

New to Guzzi? in case you don't already know... these motors like to rev, you don't ride it like a Harley..

Just means your clutch isn't dragging. Not to worry..

See......like I said.  They would be along to throw in their comments.  The 5 speed trans showed be smooth now since it's broken in.  What's the mileage?

Get the rear wheel off the ground and put it in gear.  Work it through the gears.  Otherwise if it shift okay.  Don't sweat it. ;-T
