I'm thinking about looking at it. Is this price reasonable? Any known issues with this year and model? It looks to me like the bike is running with an open exhaust. Will this cause damage? Any advice is appreciated http://www.ksl.com/?nid=218&ad=33825486&cat=&lpid=1&search=moto guzzi&ad_cid=11 (http://www.ksl.com/?nid=218&ad=33825486&cat=&lpid=1&search=moto guzzi&ad_cid=11)

LOL ! its missing the two mufflers .
for that price i would walk away.....
In good stock condition a realistic price could be 4500 , give or take .
Ask if he has the original parts , mufflers etc. and please negotiate the price , 5800 is too high. ( imho )

Arveno, link is fixed now...you can read the owners description of the bike and additional parts it comes with. It's the first large block Guzzi I've seen for sale in the northern Utah area in over 8 months of searching and the price was in the general area to pique my interest.
-
$5,800? It needs to have an exhaust system, or it will burn out the valves AND your ears. The stock airbox is way better than the pod filters. $3500 would be a better price, assuming the valves aren't toast from running too lean with no exhaust and pod filters.
Ken
Edit: Are the mufflers missing because they didn't know which one to put on? If so, then $4,500 would be a reasonable price. If they ran the bike for thousands of miles without an exhaust, be cautious.

I understand that won't be easy to find a V11 for sale locally , but winter is over, if you keep looking and find one a 1000 Miles away.... flight and ride it home.
-
Isn't $5800.00 about what a ready to go V11 would sell for ? Seems like he is a bike flipper judging by his statement about buying sport bikes now .
Dusty
I'd gladly sell my 2001 V11S for $5800 if someone wants it. Hell, I'd even ride it there and fly home!

You could buy a really nice, unmolested example for less than that.
Tail should be gray. So, at least some of the bodywork has been repainted.
The lack of mufflers really makes me wonder about the owner and how the bike has been ridden and treated.

Too much.

Take note they they have it listed as an 8V motor. ??? Looks like the standard 4V too me. It does have 56K miles...

56 k for a guzzi are not much if well maintained, and 56 k in 15 years.... are not much
me? I rather buy a 15 y.o. bike with 56 k miles than a 15 y.o. bike with 5 k but thats me. :)
-
Overpriced. And the bike has obviously been molested and run the way it is.
-
"definitely attracts a lot of attention"
Without mufflers, the wrong kind ???
-
Caution advised.. price too high bike too molested.
-
Keep looking. If you're pure of heart, your guzzi will find you grasshopper ;D

Frulk- For $5800 (maybe $6K) you can most likely find a 2004 V11 Cafe Sport. It's more comfortable because it has higher bars and a small fairing to deflect wind at speed.
-
Frulk- I forgot to ask, have you given up on a CB1100? I recall you were recently looking for one.

Not to mention, Ohlins suspension... :bike

Beat me to it. You can get an Ohlins bike for that kind of money.

Guys...thanks for the quick feedback. Much appreciated! ;-T
Frulk- I forgot to ask, have you given up on a CB1100? I recall you were recently looking for one.
The CB is still in the running. Long story on it but I'll cut to the chase...I went in and looked at a 2013 CB1100 and the price on it was $8245....the out the door price that day was $9100 and change...came back a week later last Saturday and the bike was marked down to $7999. I'm under the impression that the OTD price would change accordingly (drop $245)...asked the dealer what it was and he said..."$9100". Explained to dealer that was the price he quoted when it was $8245. Said he might have done math wrong and he would call me Tuesday...no call yet.
Then there's this thing called Honda Bonus Bucks. Near as I can tell Honda offers that to buyer directly. $1000 currently for said model. Dealer never mentioned this. Had he said price is $9100 out the door and you get $1K in accessories the sale would have been completed last Saturday.
Anyway, one reason I'm leaning towards a Honda is the dealer is in the same time zone. I'm perfectly happy with my current Goose but taking it in for maint is an all day affair almost. And I don't want to double those trips. (BUT, for the right Guzzi ,at the right price, with low miles and in decent shape I MIGHT consider it). In case you're wondering I'm one of the 4 that responded to the poll about wrenching as "There is a bed of nails, let me jump on it before I pick up that wrench. I like to ride, leave the other stuff to the monkeys" So, now I'm looking at used CB's ( a few around here). Prices for those start at around $7,200 with sub 2K miles AND they have some accessories or willing to include them at a discount.
Again.....really appreciate the timely feedback. This is a great forum!

Currently no :'( . Just picked up a 2013 CB1100...but...had I seen that I might have hitched the trailer up and took 3 days vacation time and rolled over to Cali for a serious look....Won't be in the market for another bike until early next year and then I'll be looking for something like that.

Yup - nice bike. Not that these are high for a Guzzi they would still have me offering ~$4.2K cash! ;)
-
I don't get these guys that are willing to over-pay by a couple grand because they found a bike locally, and "they don't come up that often in these parts". You know, they make trucks that pick up a bike and deliver it to you for about $500. Broaden your search, have one shipped, and still pay less!
Geeze...

+1
From personal and current experience. I tried to buy my new purchase within the state of FL and no-one was even within $1,000 of the price I got with shipping from Seattle. The shipping really isn't that much and you have so many more choices.

i believe this guy posted the rosso corsa for sale here a while ago , i can believe he's having so much trouble to find a buyer , looks like well kept and the price is very reasonable and he's willing to negotiate too.....

Me, either. I wouldn't take that for Rosie.. <shrug> and it's probably better cosmetically.
