In Cricket that is ;D Now before all of you purists start complaining about the lack of Guzzi content , we have lots of members from those two fine countries , just wanted to congratulate our Aussies for winning the world cricket championship , and also our Kiwis for making it to the title match . Bet there is a big party

Not for the Kiwis there ain't.

Probably not , but considering that New Zealand is one of the smallest nations to compete , making the final is a damn fine accomplishment .

That may be true Dusty but I admit to being with Dave. :'( :'(
Actually, for a minnow country I reckon we punch above our weight.

The All Blacks will make up for it ;D

The Black Caps did fantastically. Despite being an Aissie I regret that they didn't take the cup. Our team has a lot of arrogant pricks in it and while they were clinical in their crushing of the Kiwis it bought me little joy or satisfaction.
Good on the Kiwis, it was a magnificent effort.

I'm not a big cricket fan but as an Aussie I'm glad Australia won.
NZ is always a tough competitor no matter which sport. Yep, they are minnows but so is Australia compared to the UK, USA and many more. The one award that NZ should be truly proud of is a few years ago there was a survey and NZ women were pronounced the world's most promiscuous! Kudos! ;-T

IMO, cricket is a game for raving lunatics, where opposing sides take a turn at inflicting GBH with a cricket ball.
FWIW, I went to a wedding this weekend ;D Now you can all take aim at me :'(

The kiwis were our favourite team in the comp... and we are Aussies. Talented, spirited, never-say-die and all with a sense of fair play and no arrogance.
Well done Kiwis ... I wished you had won. I will be supporting you in the future.
The Aussie team were the best performers in the comp and the worst to watch... arrogance, aggressive towards fellow players, poor characters on and off the field. Kiwis and some of the other teams like Sri Lanka and South Africa were a joy to watch .. Aussies were just painful to watch.
Visited the South Island and came to experience just how civilized the kiwis were first hand. Great country populated by genuine people.
A kiwi cop pulled me over for doing 135 kms in a 100 zone along a long lonely stretch, asked me why I was going so fast ... I honestly replied I was enjoying the great straight road conditions, the great views and not paying attention to my speed ... he checked my licence, warned me to slow down and that was that ... all in a friendly manner.
The next time I was pulled over back home in OZ the not so friendly female officer had her hand wrapped around the butt of her pistol while asking me for my licence!
Freaked me out for all I had done was a U turn at a not so busy green light intersection! No traffic or pedestrians put in any danger except for me breaking a road rule.
Still freaks me out... BTW I am a Sonny Bill fan too ... :)

I think I should visit New Zealand next time I'm in that part of the planet.

USA? WTF? No way. It's never done here.

I saw that happen in Ned Kelly's Pub in Hong Kong back in 1974.

Actually, the USA has a very long and proud cricketing tradition that continues, though in a greatly diminished state, to this day.

TT , I think LR was referring to the female's proclivities , in a facetious way mind you :D Cricket is really a beautiful game , now if someone couls just explain the scoring ???

TT, Dusty is blowing smoke up your skirt.
I've never met anyone in America that's ever played or ever seen a live Cricket game. Cricket is really non existent.
No knock on the game. Everyone loves their sports team and I am sure it's a real happening for the British Commonwealth but Cricket is a complete mystery to 99.9999999999999% of the USA.

Me--Me. ;D I actually use to play the game. That was 65 years ago in Trieste, Italy. American kids against English kids. One day Cricket and the next day Baseball. By the end of the year we were all right good at both games. ;-T

Cricket is really very simple. Here is how it works.
You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out.
When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game.
See, simple!

It's what we all do down here Dusty. Better than a hot water bottle on those cool Winter evenings. We ride the big ones to work.
