Title: shock question

I have a 07 breva 1100. I have taken the knob off for the preload adjuster expecting to find a ball and spring. There was nothing there, I don't see any sign that there ever was one. Where should it be and what does it do? Any info would be appreciated.

Looks like you got one with the placebo knob. Next you'll be complaining about quirky handling or somesuch nonsense. ;D
