Title: old style Norge top case
Post by: Buckturgidson on March 31, 2015, 07:59:17 AM
Yesterday was my first long ride with a new silver top case for the 2007 Norge I scored off wildguzzi classifieds. A PA dealer found old/new stock in a box.
They must have used the wind tunnel in design because it works great. No buffeting. None of the dreaded back wind pressure pushing the back of my head forward like on my BMW, even at 90 mph. And it looks great (for a top case.)
An aside, rode Lake Davis loop first time this year and it brought involuntary grins.

Don't know how much difference there is between yours and the 8V case but it appears the whole setup with the fairing, side and top bags are very well aerodynamically designed to play well together. I have had mine up to 140mph indicated with everything on it and all was smooth and with rock solid stability.

The aerodynamic shape of the case comes at the expense of some capacity, but that is fine. The panniers have plenty of room for a long trip. I bought the case for convenience and because the price was right. My Norge came with the rack to mount it.
