Post by: Chuck in Indiana on April 04, 2015, 09:52:53 AM
Grandkids are coming to Indiana this summer. I'd like to find something they can run up and down the runway..

Being that this is a Guzzi board, he would like you to pay him to take it off your hands. ;D

How cheap are we talking ?

  Dusty

Have pity on the man.   He's an old retired guy living on a fixed income.   I would think that someone who's still working and getting a paycheck every month would see their way clear to donating a motorbike.   It's for the grandkids after all.

Think of the smiles on their little faces when he rolls out a little bike for them to ride.   Think about being part of that joy and happiness .....

I'm thinking 3-400 if it's running... depending on what it is. Don't want something with unobtainium parts.

Hey Chuck, I've got a nice mini bike for sale. Aka Briggs and Stratton engine. It came in a package deal, needs throttle cable and probably a carb cleaning. It looks very nice and not beat up.
How's $150.00 sound?
Our old buddy Jimmy Connors may be able to grab it sometime if he drives over soon, otherwise I could easily get it to Terre Haute to a friends house to help out with drive time. If interested I'll provide pictures next week.

The seller does say make him an offer , 75 American  ::) Realistically , 300 bucks .

  Dusty

I was guessing $400.   XT-225 Yamahas and old Honda XL-250s in running condition trade for $600 or so ....

Ok, that gives me a realistic idea of prices. I know a guy that has an old Honda trail 90. No doubt hasn't ran for over 20 years. High dollar?

Trail 90's are bringing a premium these days , a complete  non running one will bring 400 bucks easy , a nice running model will bring clear of 1200 bucks .

  Dusty

Thanks again..

Aside form their inherent practicality and Flintstone's like ruggedness - they're being snapped up like hot cakes around these parts by and for the giant trend in retro camper restoration and use. The Trail 90's (and 110?) a the cat's whiskers on the back bumper of a trailer or RV.

But they aren't to cheap anymore.

You can still get a cosmetically challenged runner for $600-$700.

The XR70 is another good candidate.    They can be had for $500-$700.    The engine is pretty much the same as that of last of the CT70's (12 volt electrics, electronic ignition).
