I need to start the Title and Registration process for the V11 Jackal that I bought in Maine some time back, you may recall that it had a trashed engine and I swapped it out etc...
Well, the owner never did find the friggin' title so, in my absence Wife Sue is starting to gather all the info needed to obtain a replacement title and register the m/c. Sue sent me an email with photos of the VIN and we cannot quite discern one of the numbers or letters in the VIN... the sixth position to be exact. Cannot tell whether it is an "8" or a "B"
Can any of you Jackal owners tell me the first eight digits of your VINs...? I have ZGUKDBKD or ZGUKD8KD
Thanks.

Mine has ZGUKDBKD8YM151615.

Thanks Matteo,
Let's go with the "B"...
I appreciate the look.
Best,
Rob

The "B" should be correct.
Z = Italy
GU = Moto Guzzi
KDBKD = The model. (KD is the 1064cc California efi engine.)
The 9th place is a number used as a check digit.
The 10th place is the year model. A 2001 model should have a "1".
The 11th place is an "M" and is the plant code for Mandelo del Lario.
The remaining six place are the production number.

Interesting info although the 10th position on this VIN is definitely "Y"... :-\
Thanks,

"Y" was used for model year 2000.

"Y" was used for model year 2000.
Well the VIN plates must have spilled over into the 2001 model year, I will have to go look at the plates for the build dates. Both of mine are 2001 models and have "Y" in that position.
Thanks,
Rob

Look at the VIN plate and any stickers that remain.
Keep in mind that build date, model year, and year stated on your State issued title could be three different years.
Odds are you have a MY 2000 motorcycle that was built in late 1999 and first registered in 2001.
It will be interesting to hear what you have.
