We saw it tonight, another winner for the franchise.
Highly recommend the movie if you haven't seen it, if you enjoyed the other movies.
I thought they did a very good job finishing the movie without Paul.

I saw some news-ish piece on the guy. All these bawling tweenies going on about what a wonderful role model he was. We got some believers here in town -- strap a tomato soup can to their tailpipe, add some no-sidewall tires and mount some come-along handles between the seats to fake 'drift brakes' and it's a license to street race through the roundabout at 3:AM (I live within spitting distance of the roundabout. I hear them most nights. Some mornings the traffic signs are mauled and mutilated by sliding roller skates. The cop shop is almost exactly the same distance but from the other direction. They don't hear anything).
I wonder how many stupid kids have died trying to emulate that f*ing idiot.

"drifting" Harumph. Over 100 years of figuring out how to keep the wheels on the pavement and here we are with some idiots thinking loss of traction is something cool.

Yeah, we really should have the "Slow & Reasonable" movie series, where 62 year women in Crown Victorias never--and I mean NEVER--turn right on red.
It's snail-paced action that will have you cheering in the aisles.
Sorry guys, I couldn't resist. I'm not a fan of the F&F movies either, but not everything has to be My Dinner With Andre. It's just dumb fun.

Cheap shot. No one said anything about racing. Rally, flat track, F1, NASCAR, even drag racing make some sense- but "drifting"? Don't get me wrong- i know the stunt drivers who do this are very much in control. However, the whole thing is somewhat pointless. Yes, if you ask me about stunt motorcycling- i think that a lot of that gets pretty boring.

I'm not a fan of the sub-culture, but once again I don't feel the need to flog it either.
Drifting isn't my thing, the but the basic skill is the same basis as Rally driving.
You gotta see what Ken Block could do with a Subaru or Ford Rally car. Check out YouTube for some impressive car control videos.
Actually he took James May for a ride along on Top Gear once and it looked like May was going to have a heart attack lol.

I like drifting. Not necessarily the sport of, but drifting a car in general. It is mucho fun in a balanced car.
In the early 70's I was in the Navy stationed at Vallejo. I owned a Datsun 240Z which had 51/49 weight distribution. To enter the base we had to off ramp where the ramp was an arc that took you above the freeway and then down to the gate. The turn was slightly banked. I could drift the car completely around the off ramp, squealing tires and all and then come to a stop at the gate. One morning a shore patrol dude had some words with me and I had to stop doing it. But gad that was fun.
I drift several corners around where I live in my daily driver, a 1997 Cadillac Seville STS. Great fun.
The boys on Top Gear drift their rented super cars every week. It seems to be a contest with them in who has the best car for drifting.
I am not attracted to racing on a drift track but do it whenever I see the opportunity. Remaining in control while losing traction is a gas and a half.
