Title: Norge front fork adjustment

I hope someone can enlighten me, I've searched the internets and the manual isn't very clear on how to adjust the front fork.  It says to open the adjuster all the way then close it three turns.  I'm assuming opening is backing it out and closing is tightening?(they were all the way tightened).  Also, when I went to loosen it seems like I'm loosening the fork cap, not the adjuster inside. Is this how it's supposed to be?  It does come to a stop but to me it looks like the smaller bolt with +& - marks should turn inside the larger nut.  Any help would be appreciated, thanks, Kris

  The larger nut should be secured in the fork. Tighten it but 8-9 ft lbs and not much more.  It seems this is common and using a little silicone lube at the base of the 17mm adjuster in the center of the fork cap bolt will allow the two to work independently.  All the way soft (or loose) is with the 17mm bolt fully counter clockwise.

Thanks for your answer.  I thought it was that way.  Must have beeb cranked tight from the factory.  Now I need to find the right size socket so I can torque down the fork cap.  Any idea what size it is?

Just checked mine.  It's 30mm.

Make sure the larger bolts are tight
The smaller nuts settings depend on your personal preference.
I would say anything between completely loose +3 up to completely tight - 3 turns.
As for me, I wasn't happy with any of those and went from 15 grade front fork oil to 10, which made a world of difference.
But to each his own....

Thanks.  I have a socket that fits, but I have to remove the handlebars to get the socket on the nut as there's not enough clearance.  Maybe I'll look for a thin wall socket?

How many cc of the 10 wt do you use in each leg?  I was also looking for a way to reduce the compression damping and this might do the trick.

I went with 10W Maxima 110mm from the top of the tube with the fork compressed & springs & plastic tubes out(this is factory spec). I like it, not dramatically softer but it seems to take stutter bumps better.

The front suspension was way too harsh for me on sudden bumps. No setting could cure this.  So I went on to Progressive springs, hoping this would settle the matter. It didn't.  Though it took away some of the harshness, I still wasn't satisfied.  Then I went to 10W on the new springs, and everything fell in it's place.  So now I still wonder if the new springs were really needed.  So if the front suspension bothers you, start with 10W instead of 15 and see what happens.  You can still move to progressive springs afterwards, if needed.
