Price way too high as well. 16 large? Before I came to my senses I almost bought one from MI for 9 large and that was years ago. Then I realized that I was an adult and had responsibilities.

Looks to me that the dealer in Oakdale has a Coppa priced at 16K, and he's gigging him a little..

Yep, Oakdale NY.  Formerly/currently? a Guzzi dealer they had some leftover bikes with insane prices.  I knew a kid who worked there and he said that the basement is full of NOS parts that they can't be bothered to catalog and sell.  Their core business is selling sportbikes to newbies but they always have ads on Craigslist for used bikes including Guzzis.  This is an actual ad, not a rejected SNL skit:

2002 MOTO GUZZI CALIFORNIA SPECIAL SPORT  $6,649

DESCRIPTION:

Moto Guzzi  The Special Sport is the symbol of the California range an impressive ultra-rigged bike with all the Moto Guzzi genes and a special vocation for long-distance travel. Just a glance is enough to conjure up images of the legendary "Route 66" and "Coast to Coast" which have captivated entire generations of bikers. The heart of the bike is the same indestructible generous 90% V twin which helped create the California legend. Other components such as the unmistakable eagle's beak chromed profile mudguard convex chromed side fairings and rounded cylinder heads with shiny valve covers give this majestic cruiser an incomparable fascination. Born to travel the California Special Sport has a double soul. Comfortable and "touring" its true passion for speed is revealed in its gritty no-compromises livery. A bike promising and delivering emotions as strong as its distinctive colour combinations. The black contrasts and emphasises the red symbol of the Moto Guzzi sporty temperament or fortifies the refined and precious color of the gold. Numerous changes for 2001 but not just in the two new colors. For USA market the California Special Sport will become available with the 2002 model year production
