Allright now here we go. The only people on this list who follow college basketball is Dusty and yours truly.
So anybody else other Guzzitis waiting for the main event tonight or is this is a dead thread on arrival? :beat_horse
Dusty is pulling for the Cheeseheads and I have no choice but to be a Dukie. Realistically I say its even odds but if it goes to OT the Badgers take the marbles because they are deeper.
Anybody out there care about hoops talk? Otherwise I'll PM Dusty and have the popper ready to fire up at 9:10. :pop :pop :pop

Harv , most likely this will be a bare thread (sorry , bad pun) . As for my preference , maybe leaning just a bit towards "Sconsin , would be their first title and all , senior and junior dominated , but Krzyzewski is also a favorite of mine . Two gentleman coaches with clean programs facing off ;-T

I can't root for Duke after they beat Gonzaga. However, I think it will be a very close game.

Count me in! It's lonesome down here in south LA for anyone that likes college basketball. Nobody cares unless it's LSU and then most people don't give a damn.

I generally wouldn't care, but Wisconsin star Frank Kaminsky is a local product that went to high school about 200 feet from my house.
So everyone around here is a Wisconsin fan tonight.

I'm rooting for Wisconsin. I had Traevon Jackson in one of my classes, and I wound up pretty impressed by his diligence and demeanor.

Well since Wisconsin hasn't WON the big one since 1941.....how can anyone root against them....be like rooting against the Cubs when they get to their next world series.

I clinched an 80 person bracket pool on Saturday night with Wisconsin's win. In addition to nailing most of my bracket I'd picked and Duke vs. Wisconsin final. Part of the reason was that I figured everyone and their mom would put Kentucky in the final so my best bet to win was to choose a team I thought was 'second best' and hope they made it (Wisconsin). So my total points as of Sunday morning were more than anyone else's potential points.
Best part about that is that now, even though I picked Duke to win it all, I can root for Wisconsin and not be conflicted. I'm a Buckeye, not a Badger, but I'm rooting for Big Ten tonight.

I love the NCAA tournament, and had my bracket busted in the first round. My love of Iowa State proved painful. I had/have the Badgers to win it all. You've got to root for Wisconsin, the only team in the final four who were not made up with "one and done" freshmen. Even Duke and Coach K have gone the recruit and not educate route, where as Wisconsin has a good mix of upper classman starters. I have no alumni nor geographic bias, just like the way the Badgers get it done. If you really want to start the "oil thread" version of a college hoops posting, start with the following statement.
Should they get paid! Hell yeah in my book. Everyone is making big bank off these kids, and since no one seems concerned about an education, they should share in the wealth :pop
And yes I look fwd to Clark Kellogg Ernie Johnson, Sir Charles and Kenny the Jet. Very entertaining.

I am too. I prefer women's ball and UConn has done a phenomenal job the last 20 years, although it may be a tight game. As for tonight's game, I gotta go with the ACC, but I'm hoping it goes down to a last second shot to decide the winner. :BEER:

I would be if UCONN was not in it. It really wears me down that all Geno all the time. It's not good for the women's game to have one team dominate.

Wisconsin had no answer for the 2 Duke freshman guards that played out of their minds in the second half. Congrats Duke enjoy the Champagne.

Coach K may be the greatest big game coach ever . Wisconsin has nothing to hang their heads about .

I found myself rooting for Wisconsin even though they had beat my team (Arizona). The only complaint was when Duke knocked the ball out of bounds and the officials gave the ball to.... Duke? Doesn't make sense and it definitely hurt Wisconsin. But I didn't have a dog in the fight so good entertainment. :)

Some iffy calls against Wisconsin, just as in the Kentucky game. (After all, the Big Ten wasn't supposed to be in the Finals and therefore must be punished for their impudence)
But a really good game, and I can only imagine how great Duke will be in the next few years as those excellent freshman get more experience.
