However, on Sat morning, we should organize a local ride around the area. ;-T 8) :)

Hey AZ Wayne!  Those MZ 660 singles are "way cool" bikes! 8) ;-T  Can't wait to check it out if you ride it to Cottonwood!  I almost bought a new one, (it was a 1999 model), in the crate when I lived in Aachen, Germany 2004-2005.  8)

That deal never materialized and I wound up with a "mint" 1993 Triumph Trident 900 that I flogged for >2 years while over there. ;-T 8)

Mine is an improved 2000 model.  The original versions were suspect on their front forks.  Mine isn't and has a conventional handlebar instead of the clipons.  :BEER:  When I got this MZ I had to relearn what going thru a corner quickly was all about 1 or 2up!  It's that superior to anything I have owned prior or now.  :o

That wasn't me.   I have a 750 Breva but gotta take it to Jim Knaup to see if he can fix it.  I've tried to but have struck out.  It won't idle properly or if it idles you can't get up to 3K rpm.  If you do get up to 3K rpm it runs just fine until you get below 3K rpm, then it dies.   For all I know it might be as simple as a crack in a hose, but I'm tired of fighting it.  ~;

Too bad about your Breva 750.  That little Guzzi should run and idle without any issues whatsoever, yes?
IMHO, there is nothing worse than an unreliable motorcycle, regardless of the brand. :o ;) ::)

As for me, since I am still "without Guzzi..." Yes...O' the horror...THE HORROR!  ;D :D

Therefore, this year, I will flog "The Root Beer Float", aka, my '78 Honda GL1000 "naked" Gold Wing, also known as..."The Big Flat Four." 8) ;-T

I'd like to see your '78 GL1000.  Back when they were new they looked huge. Now they look middle weight.  ???  Compared to your Victory don't you agree?  ;D

* My '78 GL1000 weighs about 625 pounds wet  8) - it looks cool "naked" (sans a windshield / bags)
* "Moby Dick" (aka The Great White Whale...my '14 Victory Vision) weighs about 875 pounds wet  :o
* A 2015 GL1800 Gold Wing ("loaded") weighs about 900+ pounds wet :o ::)
* A 2015 Harley-Davidson Ultra Glide is about 850+ pounds

One needs to think about what the big bikes are really designed for.  It's like comparing a Mini-Cooper-S to a BMW 750iL.  My Vision is primarily designed for two-up, long distance riding and for COMFORT - - and my wife LOVES riding on the back - so there you have it!

In the very near future, I still want another Guzzi - just for me! :) 8) ;-T

JJ,

I sure wish I could be there!!!

But, I will be on the road. My wife and I will drive  :( to Innsbruck that weekend.

Innsbruck is almost as nice as Salzburg, and I think Salzburg is about the most beautiful city I have seen in Europe!

Have fun, ride safe, play hard.

Looking at US 30 to 81 or 281 south to Pratt, KS day 1. Then 54/I 40 to Gallup day 2. Undecided on 89A or another more easterly route to Cottonwood. I've always been a bit destination focused and use the interstates mostly, but I'm trying to change after viewing Daniel's trips. Always open to suggestions....Stev e

Hey guys...I'm headed out from Houston to Phoenix but arriving late Sunday night and will be in the Phoenix / Flagstaff area for about 2 weeks including the weekend up at Overland Expo.  Do you guys have a Phoenix Guzzi meeting / beer fest anytime in the 1st half of May?  If so, would love to drop in, as I'll be trailering the Norge with me and we plan to ride over a couple of leisurely days from Scottsdale via Cottonwood and Jerome onto Sedona then Flagstaff and Grand Canyon maybe up to Antelope Canyon and Vermilion Cliffs, and then down thru some of the back roads via Mormon Lake, Payson, Globe areas.  Hoping to see some other Geese on the road in town during our vacation there.

Cheers,
Paul

First Sunday of the month, we meet at the Denny's on I-17 and Bell Road (southwest corner of the intersection). 8am. Not sure if we'll move it 9 for rally guys to make it or not or if we'll try to zoom back early like last year.

Well, looks like I'll be at the NAR after all. Good news since I haven't been to the AZ rally since 2005. I got the last small single at the View Motel. A smoking room, I suppose it'll be better than my tent.  Will be arriving on Thursday coming from Colorado. Will stay in Cortez Weds night and riding in Thursday.  If anyone is riding in from that area give me a shout.

We got a "Non-smoking" room at the Howard Johnsons in Flagstaff once (long story). It was not. Changed rooms, not much better. Place was a dive; we left in the morning without even using the shower. Tent would have been better. My nose can not handle smoke residue.

You may want a plan B. :)
