Recently bought a 2007 Norge. As is well documented, the leg room is a little snug even for my stubby legs. I see in the parts book there are two seats shown:
883098 High saddle
977692 Saddle black
Can anyone tell me how much difference there is between the two? I assume the 'high saddle' is a taller seat? I saw a reference to a 'gel' saddle somewhere, is that one of these? 977692 seems to be more available used, so maybe 883098 was the option?

Don't know the parts # of the gel saddle, but I have one on my '09 Norge. It is very comfortable but is slightly lower than the standard one (at least mine is); if your legs feel cramped with the stock seat, the gel seat would likely make the problem worse.

You may want to ride to Redding CA and see Seth Laam.
My customers love his seats.

You might also want to try lower rider foot and toe pegs, like these:

I have them on my Norge, and they make a noticeable difference.

Yes, thank you for all the suggestions. Short legroom on the old Norge is well documented. I have yet to install the pegs from a Gold Wing, and I have a thicker saddle I could use if I want to get the cover replaced.
I really was just hoping to learn how much higher is the "higher" seat, if at all. I like the comfort and look of the stock saddle so far and used stock saddles are surprisingly cheap. And so am I.

One thing people always seem to forget when comparing measures of the 'old' Breva vs the 'new' Norge is that although the 'new' Norge has a saddle that is 1 cm higher or thicker, so are the footrests. The rubber on the 'new' footrests is thicker than old the old ones, by 1 cm. I was told Guzzi meant to reduce vibrations. Strange, because there aren't any - at least not disturbing ones. So the easiest thing would be to combine the 'new' seat of the Norge with the rests of the Breva. You gain 1 cm, which is quite a lot....And it wouldn't lower the pegs itself, no possible scraping in tight corners.

I had the same problem on my 1200 sport and found a guy that modifies seats for a good price and quick turn around. I was able to raise the foam in the seat to create the distance needed. I would like a set of norge pegs for the sport though....
