Title: V65SP faring info

Working on a friends V65SP that has a cracked lower faring. Wondering if anyone knows what material it is in order to attempt plastic repair or welding.
If anyone has a decent left lower available, we're all ears :D

Get some ABS, mix it with MEK, it makes a glue. You can glue the fairing back together.  Glue the backside of it, and put a piece of masking tape over the crack on the outside to contain the glue.  The MEK in the glue will soften the material of the fairing and the glue will melt into it.  Use of goggles, gloves, and a respirator is recommended.

Hey!  I'm not that old ::) Don't think I'll ever catch up with you. Besides I'm smart enough to know that huffing is really bad and just makes you stupid. Don't need any more of that in my life.
So what about buying abs glue at Menards? Maybe thin it with mek? Or do I need to grind up an old hepco Becker bag?
Also thought I might pop rivet a strong back patch on the inside.

Get some thin (.125) abs at Menards.  cut a strip wide enough to overlap the crack by .5 inch or so.  prep both surfaces by scuffing it with some medium grit sandpaper.  grind a slight v shape into the outside of the crack.

Head the abs in an oven at low temp for a few minutes, if it starts to bubble cut a new strip and start over as it needs to be plyable, not soft.  Before fiddling with glue, shape the warm abs patch to the back side of the crack, some light clamping might help but usually working it with some gloves will suffice.

When it all cools, mix up some 5 minute epoxy and dribble some into the v that is ground into the outside of the crack, try not to get it on the outside surface around the crack.  spread a thin layer of epoxy on the prepped surface on the back side of the piece to be repaired, and apply the patch.

Sand, fill, prime and paint 24 hours later.
