Title: Puckered on Geiger Grade today
Post by: Buckturgidson on April 13, 2015, 06:03:09 PM
Took a fairly tight lefty at 55 on the V7. The side stand hit so hard it altered my line and the front end wobbled. Drifted right toward a rocky outcrop, not a cliff thank goodness. Tippy toed some front brake and regained the line.
I have ridden Geiger hundreds of times, only real close call for me. Others not so lucky.

Buck,

Good recovery,  well done.  That's leaning it over hard on a V7.  Scraped stand once on V7R.

May I ask location of said highway and rocky cliffs please?

Nice save.  Beautiful road and views.  Rode up with uncle and aunt last time visiting Reno.

Basically runs from Reno to Virginia City.  here's a map.

You don't want a bobble on Geiger grade that is for sure!  I've ridden my V7 on that road and it is fun but I'm always worried about the rocks coming down the hillside and dirt being pulled onto the road by cars, never really let it fly on that road.  I like the truck route heading out of Virginia City towards Carson much better for spirited riding.
