I purchased a set of rear wheel bearings for my 03 v11 and (to my surprise) they're made in China. Not what I expected from a reputable MG dealer in the US. Anyone have any experience with these?

Can't say that I have but just bought some seals made by SKF. Guess were they were made.

I used Chinese wheel bearings in my 1990 CBR 1000F from JC Whitney, they lasted 50K+ and hailed from China. If you have the right equipment, good bearings can be made anywhere you can get decent materials

I Most Probably Bought From The Same Reputable Dealer. I Tossed Them And Bought Japanese NTN,s For Piece Of Mind.

If they are a brand name made in China I suspect that they should be ok. Hopefully they would be made to use the specs and QC of the parent company. For example, the Fujitsu heat pumps we get out here are made in the PRC and there is nothing wrong with them. The Chinese designed and manufactured in PRC ones are a pile of s**t.
I must admit though, a few of the local lads had those Chinese knockoff mini bikes. They would quickly be in to see me to put SKF wheel bearings in as the (unbranded) originals were really rubbish, and to replace the exhaust studs as the original ones were made of cheese.

Come on folks, the cold war is over. They make plenty of fine iPhones in China, no one complains about quality of materials or construction. Get over it.

Oh no sib. Got to have someone to badmouth. :pop I have eight motorcycles and I suspect most of them have bearings manufactured in China. Anytime I replace a tire I check the bearings and, over the years, I have found some going bad and replace them. I can't remember when I actually had a bearing fail, Chinese or otherwise. The last bearings I purchased from NAPA were manufactured in India. :BEER:
