Any tips on getting the clips that hold the valve guides out?

To heat put a piece of flat metal over the combustion chamber, direct hot air gun into exhaust port for 10 minutes or so, have gloves ready, it will be too hot to handle.

I jumped the gun and tossed the head in the oven and drove the guides out "upward" the whole way. Wasn't too difficult but I did notice some scoring the length of the head.
Oh well. Hopefully it won't end up being an issue
