My wife and I did that. I rode a Laverda, she rode a Morini. But I had to stop and find work. I couldn't find anyone to give me money.
We may do it sort of again this summer. Now I won't have to get work on the way.

Maybe I should ask for Donations from strangers so I can take a once in a lifetime motorcycle trip.

All you have to have is some "chutzpah".
Still, I'm glad I don't have their nerve in my tooth ....

The story on how he got his Convert is pretty amusing.

I ran a spread sheet for a 9 week ride some years back. Target was $50.00 per day or less. Gas, not today's gas, will eat $25-30 assuming a 300 mile day. On top of that you have food and camping fees. These days I budget about $100 per day but by sharing the campsite cost and limiting travel to 250 miles per day or less you may get by for $50.00 or less - fact is I know you can.

OK, I agree $50 per day living like Kings Gas, Steak, Beer, Campsite that's what it cost for a 3 week trip to California
I don't know why I said $25, without gas maybe
