...for the wife. Monster 696+ in red, and I've got to say, it's beautiful.
'08 model with 1900 miles on the clock.
Pulled this pic of the actual bike from the shop's website.

Good plan!
I bought my wife a MIG welder and an air compressor for her birthday. She doesn't seem to use them much, so I've been using them just so they won't go to waste ....

That's NO miles!
Nice find.
Congrats.
The more you ride it, the more you'll love it.

Ride on, both of you.
(I get to ride the W650 when my wife travels...)

Kev, not to steal the thread but I always liked these little monsters. How do you compare these to the v7's? Not sure others have both to compare/contrast.

no time like the present.
you'll kick yourself for waiting so long.
if I had to pick a favorite- I'm not ashamed to say it'd be the little monster.

I've actually posted about that before. If you give me till Monday when I'm at my desk I'll start a new thread to compare them and either search for what I've written before and/or write up some new thoughts.
But I'll say this for now.
I prefer my V7.
Jenn prefers the M696.
I think the Duc is more capable, not only faster, but with better suspension and stronger brakes too.
But I still prefer the V7.

My wife actually sat on a V7 to try it for size and she was put off by the weight, and that was just getting it off the side stand!
I had to push the 696 into an open space in the shop where we bought it and couldn't believe how light it was.

Lighter is getting better and better as I get older .... I've started riding a Norton (bonding with it in anticipation of Fay and I going on some two-up Britbike rides together). Right now I have my Stelvio, a faired Convert, and the Norton in the "running bike" part of the garage, and have to shift them around occasionally.
I'm AMAZED by how much lighter and easier to handle the Norton is than the later, bigger bikes ....
I'm sure I'd feel like I could pick up the Ducati and carry it around under my arm, though ...

FWIW, the weight difference isn't all that much, I think it's less than 50#.
Jenn's ridden the V7 and says it's OK, but just loves the 696. I think it's a combination of looks and ergos.
Come to think of it, years back Jenn sat on the V7 Cafe and preferred it to the V7C.
