Mike Alessi, has dropped from the face of the earth. The last bit of news I can find about him was that he crashed in the main at Daytona and hurt his back. Anybody out there know what happened to him? Does anybody care?

He's a punk and glad wherever he is he isn't racing.

Motorcycle racing dangerous? Who knew? Alessi was not much more than a holeshot artist. Always hoped he would mature, but it maybe too late for him.

Agreed, I had hoped he would start doing better. He was always in the mains and would usually get a good start but, he'd fade midway through the race. The weird thing is, there is no information online about him other than he crashed at Daytona. His web site hasn't been updated, his Facebook page is dormant. It's as if he was abducted by aliens. I just find it odd that there is no announcement of retirement, no updates on his injury, nothing.

I think he broke something in a Canada race, but it was around the same time as Daytona.

It's not uncommon for teams to be closed lip on injuries or info if they think it will disadvantage them in any way but it's hard to understand why they would think that at this late date.
Right or wrong Alessi is tarnished by some of his posse's actions, like pointing a laser at the eyes other riders lined up at a starting gate & general idiocy, it cost him $10k in fines too.
A little short on endurance & speed to be a consistent top 5 finisher, and another birthday next month he's likely on the backside of the career curve now maybe even washed up at age 27.
