Title: 98 EV fuel filter
Post by: guzziknight on April 25, 2015, 02:16:51 PM
Hi All,

I know there was a list floating around of after market fuel filters for the 98 EV, but I can't find it right now. Does anyone have a copy of it?

TIA,

Yaniv

NAPA 3008 or 3564. I tried to buy one a couple of weeks ago and NAPA did not have one in the state. I ordered the MG fuel filter from MG Cycle for $19.00 plus shipping. The NAPA filter was $24.00 and you would have to wrap some duct tape around it to make it fit. Not worth it. I recommend ordering one.

 A thought
If you are going to replace your fuel filter, and you have removed the charcoal cannisters with all the rats nest of hoses, consider buying a little extra high pressure fuel line & relocating the filter to the space where the cannister was  behind the right side "boomerang"
Pulling the tank, wrestling the old filter out & the new filter in.....between the frame tubes etc. etc. twice was enough for me!

Thanks. I found the OEM filter at MG Cycle. I thought they used to be more expensive than that. I went ahead and ordered it.

Yep, I remember them being around $50-60! Glad the price came down, that was ridiculous.

I have used the NAPA 3008 for years. Yes it does meed a little duct tape to fit snug in the bracket. My NAPA has them for $13.23. Ask yours for a discount, Mine always gives me the jobbers discount.
