Title: Warbirds again
Post by: Rotten Ralph on April 28, 2015, 09:36:02 AM
This may be a repeat for some - it's short but kind of neat.

It's an ad for the air show in England.

Jet fighter and bombers are neat, but nothing stirs the soul like the sight and sound of the reciprocating works of art that saved the world in WWII.

Not quite in that class but I have a free ride in a WWII Stearman trainer coming up in two weeks, won at the VFW.  My first time in an open cockpit.  Hoping for nice weather.

Watched this a long time ago and am still very impressed with just how much skill it took to fly this plane. And doing it in the middle of a barrage of flak and enemy fighters.  I guess Arthur Kennedy was drafted to make these videos for the War Dept.  One of my favorite actors, and gone now.

I predict you will love it *if* you like flying.  ;D There's nothing quite like an open cockpit biplane.

Everytime I watch this I get goose bumps... between the choice of music and the P51 I feel such awe and reverence...
