I like traveling on my Breva, a bit different than what I was used to but very capable.
I wish they would have kept at the Breva and added the 6 spd like the 2015 V7.
I wonder if the Breva bodywork, footpegs, forks, wheels, etc would all bolt up to a 2015.......

That's all right.   Not only would I qualify for the "Big Guys on Small Bikes" website, but it would be even better than me on my 600cc BSA ......

Instead of a 6th gear just put a 130/90-17 on the rear like I did years ago.  It lowers your gearing by 250 rpm.  More tire choices that way too.  I rode a B1100 when they 1st came out and it's 6th gear was no different than 5th gear on my Tonti Guzzis gearing wise.  ???

OMG, that is gorgeous!   Good job!  :drool

That shade of red is perfect for Italian motorcycles.

If only MG put those heads on production bikes.

Have you compared the performance back-to-back with any of the V7 series (modern smallblock, not the Sport or any other vintage big blocks)?

Thanks! I'm not a fan of "baggers" but a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do.  ;D Dang! and I sold the Jammer off the Kid's T project..  ~;
As far as I know.. there are no modern small blocks in Indiana to "test" with.
Here's my gut feeling. I'm pretty sympathetic to machinery, and I won't twist the driveshaft in two, etc. but I would hate to put this engine in a small block drive train and warranty it.

*sigh* There's always something. Put in new iridium plugs, fired it up and went for a ride. Now that the bags are on it, I'm getting a little low speed wobble.  ::) Need to tighten up the steering head bearings. I'll document it on the Lario Rehab thread when I get a round toit.  ;D

I'm with Wayne, the current 6 will only make you shift more (not sure you want that for your needs).  The RPM change in top gear won't get you much.  About the same as that tire choice.

Very nice Chuck. ;-T  If the bearings don't do it I'd look at those forks. Gawd I hate those things (but you know that).

Oh, I'd think bearings will do it when I get a.. oh, I already have one.. *another* round toit.  ;D Don't have time to play motorcycle right now, there's grass to mow, airplanes to get ready for the season, etc.
If I *do* something to the Lario front end, it'll probably be Gixxer, but that's a project for another time, if ever.

Hi, Charlie.. yeah, they would, but I haven't gotten around to making or trying to find mounts. I'm headed out on it as we speak to chase parts. It's a kool motorcycle, certainly a better handling bike than the Lario,  ;-T but the brakes aren't as good, IHMO. I'll put some HH pads on it to see if that helps. I *like* thumpers, but it's no contest between the 660 single and either the Lario or Aero engine for entertainment value. ;D It kind of reminds me of riding an old Sportster powered Buell. Just as you think, "Hey, this thing is making some power" it hits the rev limiter.  ;D It'll be perfect for the California Canyons.

NGC, but here is my interpretation of a lightweight tourer. The combined weight of the bags, frames, and windshield is about five pounds. The saddlebag tops incorporate rings for tying down a duffel bag.

It's just your typical head shake when decelerating at around 35-45 mph hands off. It's normally loose steering head bearings or worn tires. No big deal. If I don't get time to fool with it, I'm not afraid to ride it to the Illi noise rally.

Hey! An Unkept sighting.. thankya, Joe! Ready to put that lemon together?

Well between the weather, other bills/priorities, and being smitten with guitar playing I honestly haven't given the bikes any thoughts in a LONG time.

Yesterday I watched some of my old videos I made and it sparked the passion a bit, and today my brother called asking if I could bring a bike by for some motorcycle safety video he's helping with....

Charging up the batteries and I'll be prepping the Breva for a ride tomorrow. 80 degrees, I forgot how warm weather felt. ;)

The LeMons will get my attention shortly. Now that it's almost Summer when I can leave the garage door open and feel the breeze while I wrench. I hate feeling confined in my garage.

Not sure which events/any events we will make this year. Playing it by ear really.

Those MZs are the stuff. 360lbs! Light, indeed. In a world that is populated with so many really huge bikes, it's great to see a little love for true lightweights (around here, my Calvin is considered a middleweight). At some point I will have another street single...
