Can anyone enlighten me on the correct throttle cable routing on a Eldo. Everything was fine until I installed a national cycle windshield with the help of Harpers windshield mounting brackets. They worked great by the way as did the windshield. Some may remember my idea of a batwing fairing but just didn't look right on a classic Guzzi. I'm sure I can figure it out but time isn't on my side, leaving on vacation taking the old girl to the mountains along with my CalVin and chickencock's V7. (I'll be working on the the cables in the campground)
One bit of info someone installed a funky throttle on this bike in the past with two separate throttle cables, one to each carb. No single cable going to a splitter.

My 700 tanks have a raised tunnel on the RH side of tank, up front , just under the tank mount bolt. Helps give more room to cables. Runs between tank and frame to the splitter.
Eldo tanks are similar.

If you are running the single cable to the splitter and then the pair to each carb make sure the left hand cable is long enough, I went through two sets of new replacement cables and my tuning Guri with a Dyno insisted the LH cable was a couple mm too short, made a new one and the bike runs way better, it was very hard to start warm as the LH carb was sending fuel to the cylinder on idle.

I have 2 cables as well. Run them to the RH side at the "bulge" in the tank mounting flange as described by GuzziSteve. Duck the left side cable under the frame where the splitter would be. Then sleep well knowing it's a job well done! After you sync them of course.

I'm most interested from front of the tank up to the handlebar area.
Fro. The tank back I'm good to go in my opinion!

Mine runs strait down from throttle, then curves around to about 1" below crash bar where it goes between tank & frame. All loose out in the breeze.

answer depends on the length of your handlebars and length of your cables. you should only have issues if you have civilian (short) bars and police (long) cables...

I'm thinking the cables might be a touch long. I may have a chance to get a picture but just as easily might not. We'll see how the next couple of days go.

A big Special thanks to mgfan here on the board for setting me up with the DB's. New hinges and latches I got from Ohio travel bag (found info on this old tractor) have been installed! All I need is the rear most lower wrap around bracket to sturdy the bags up, or a sexy DB fender trim rail! This winter a new paint job with pin stripes!
Other than that the old girl rides damned sweet!

Problem solved! Cables now dangle in the breeze and all's good!
