Title: Piaggio revives the tubeless spoked wheel!
Post by: travelingbyguzzi on May 02, 2015, 09:32:55 AM
My only beef with that is that it is on an Aprillia.
The new Caponord has tubeless spoked wheels of the same design as those on Cali from way back in the early '00s. Maybe they will also show up on Stelvios soon.
I am refering to an article in the latest Rider magazine. The text said nothing about tubeless, but the photos show wheels with the external spoke flange.

What you talkin about Willis?   Stelvio wheels are tubless already why would they need to change?

Stelvio wheels are tubeless but the spokes are sealed with orings from the inside of the wheel. It is not a question of if, but, when will the orings fail. IMHO.
The external flange style is very popular but only available for a couple years on Guzzis.
I was surprised to see thwm reappear on Aprillias.
