Title: P M S
Post by: PICKLEKOOKEN on May 03, 2015, 07:38:48 AM
I'm suffering from P.M.S.. Its bad enough I have to cut back on the riding at the end of the year(and beginning) but now Its 70+ and I can't ride. AWAITING PARTS! Some time I thing the factory only has LIMITED parts available so when they run out your have to buy a new bike, car, truck, you get the picture. This has been the longest dry spell in maybe a decade! And for those that don't Know...pms PARKED MOTORCYCLE SYNDROME!

Condolences.

You may have said elsewhere before, but what missing parts have you sidelined?

Hey Bill its the ECM for the motor. Not one is available from the factory here in the states, and a unknown back order from Italy. But one of the guys on W/G Matt has one it on the way. What would we me do with out Wild Guzzi? :beat_horse

I'm suprised you don't have a good old Tonti for backup as much as you like to ride. May not be the cush ride of your Norge but dependable as an axe.

I think I'll go CX100 today :bike

I share your pain.  I ordered a hydro recall kit from mph and as an aside asked them to include a timing cover gasket.  Then I specified slow boat shipping since I had no immediate need for any of it.

Next day I stripped the hex shaft for my convert's atf pump.  The fix requires going into the timing chest.  The insurance that I won't break the gasket is to have a replacement in-hand.  That was a couple weeks ago.  The gasket is probably just leaving texas . . . .

Then to cap it all had to go to Aberdeen!!!
Still I know what's wrong with me now 😁

Sometimes three or more is needed as last September went out to ride and the Norge had a flat. Jumped on the T-3 and made it about 15 miles when the left throttle cable broke. One of those days.

It's also good to have at least one non-Guzzi, as non-regular-service Guzzi parts can take a LONG time to get.

Are you looking for a stock one that you don't have to map or can you do mapping?

If you can do mapping then you can buy a Ducati ECM for around $125 and remap it. that is what i had done for my 09 Griso so that i could have a backup.

Here are few that are on Ebay that will work.

Streetfighter
sport 1000
sts3
superbike 848 or 1098
Multistrada 1100
