Title: CalVin linked brake system weirdness
Post by: lazlokovacs on May 06, 2015, 11:47:08 AM
Seems like every 18 months or so my CalVin loses pressure in the linked (foot-controlled) brake system. The pedal goes all the way to the floor applying very little braking force. Each time, I've bled the brakes and checked for leaks and all has been well. For about 18 months. Then it just happens again. I'm on the third cycle of this now. Not like a gradual lessening of pressure, it just.... happens..

The complexities of the linked brake system obviously mean that there are more places for the system to fail... I can't see any leaks, have snugged up all the bleed nipples with teflon as well..

As ever,  any ideas?

If your not losing fluid, it's most likely the rear master cylinder. Do you get any air out when you bleed it?

As mentioned, do you get air? If so where does the air come out?
Is the fluid level dropping?

I doubt it is anything directly related to the 'integrated' brakes.
