Title: soft saddlebags for stone
Post by: mandoguzzi on May 12, 2015, 02:20:25 PM
Anyone know what soft bags will fit the new stones? Can't seem to find any that are compatible.

Just about anything will fit, assuming you have some sort of stay or support to keep it off the wheels.

Of course, by that point you might want to just consider the hard bags (HB juniors) or the soft bags that mount on the HB C-bow system.

I'm getting the Wolfman Beta Plus for my '13 V7 Stone.  Will be doing a weekend trip next month up to the Lost Coast, California.

Wolfman Beta Plus - $187.99 (http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/wolfman-beta-plus-rear-bag)

I like them a lot and I think they're small enough to stay up and out of harms way...assuming you have some sort of support stays.

That Wolfman Beta is pretty cool, and affordable as well.  ;-T

+1 on the Wolfmans. I've got the Beta Plus - just rode some 4,600 ks (2,800 mi) from Tassie to the Sunshine Coast & back to Sydney on the V7S. Plenty of room for the tools, spare parts, kitchen & food as well as the the bulky clothes & extra gloves (the mini beta would perhaps have been better for me as all the camping gear & most of the clothes are in the Ortlieb). There was damp in one of the side pockets, and water in the other after riding 6 hours in rain. Dry bag should help with that. No evidence of damp in the main body. It fits on the seat well (both the cafe seat & the dual) & easy to mount and de-mount. The contents are easily accessible on the road. (Wolfman's Boulder Beta has waterproof bag liners, but no pockets and a substantial price premium). It's a very easy way to up & running on the road without fuss or expense. Recommended.

I use ADVSpec Magadan bags that I attach to Hepco Becker racks via RoKStraps.  Note that it helps that I have a GuzziTech 2:2 aftermarket exhaust on my bike, it does not kick up as much as the stock one does so gives me more clearance.  I have used these bags with the stock exhaust though.

With stock exhaust below, you gotta make sure they are cinched tight.

Hepco Becker "C-Bow".  Search their site for the low profile mounts and a host of compatible bags.
