Title: Expecting a new baby!

I have taken the plunge and bought a used V7 Classic to replace my faithful old 850T3 Calfornia. The old girl is just too heavy for me.

Has anyone else done something similar?
On the test ride I was amazed by how agile the V7 felt. It will be given a service before I take it over, I certainly thought it would benefit from new plugs. Are these newer Guzzis as sensitive to plugs as my Cali?
Any bits of experience and insight will be welcome as I change Guzzis!

I went from a Jackal (and a Breva 1100) to a V7... so yeah, I can kinda relate. But for me it wasn't JUST because of the weight (I still have a Sporty, and will likely pick up another big twin or a Cali 1400 one of these days).

I haven't played around with plugs on the V7 Stone yet, but I never felt any made a difference on the Jackal or Breva... they were either working or not.

Sensitive to plugs? Never had that kind of Guzzi.

1) Rear shocks - get good ones like Ikons or search the forum for the other brand recommendations

2) Get the ECU remapped with GuzziDiag and a modified version of the Classics   " .Bin  " map. Turn off the O2 loop function and richen the Start Fuel map for much better starting and running when stone cold.

3) I'll let others chime in now.  ;D

My 2009 V7C started running like crap right around 6,000 miles.     New plugs made it run like new.

I replaced the plugs on my 2013 V7R at 6,500 miles.     It was still running well, but, figured I might as well do it.
The 1TB motor takes different plugs than the 2TB bike.    The 1TB plugs are really small (in thread dia.)

Jay,

I got the impression he was talking about differences just from changing brand or heat range.

But obviously, if you've got bad, worn, or misfiring plugs, then new ones will make a difference.

Educate me ; please. Every line I've read in the Guzzidiag thread leads me to the conclusion that the V7 ECU map can't be adjusted through any regularly available software or diagnostic kit. You can look but you can't touch... Hopefully I'm wrong. .... ??

You're both correct. The '13 and newer V7 has a different ECU- not currently modifiable via Guzzidiag. '12 and older is
