Ciao Tutti,
Can someone please confirm, that V7 Sport 2nd series that came with the rear brake tie rod, and not the cable, all were configured as shifter on left side and rear brake on the right side ??
Molto Grazie

72 and maybe some 73s had the left brake with cable. My 74 has the later left shift (reverse pattern from what most folks are used to now.) Personally I believe Guzzi implemented changes on bikes in engineering, then when the old style parts ran out of stock, that's when they became production.

I think that for 1974 motorcycles imported to North America had to be equipped with a left hand shift and right hand brake, hence the rod and crank linkage on the 74.

Yes, this. That's how my '74 is set up with reverse "racing" shift pattern.
