My family and I just made it to Jonestown PA. We will spend a couple of days in Leesburg and head into DC from there. Anything you could recommend good places to eat.
Thanks again.

The Leesburg area has everything.
Might help if we knew what "family" means, i.e., wee ones who eat everything or teens who are vegans today and carnivores the next, etc. ;D
Here's tripadvisors list: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurants-g57894-Leesburg_Loudoun_County_Virginia.html
We've eaten at several there. Bear in mind that the place might also be spelled "Lee$burg." Loudoun County is a high-rent district. But the countryside is lovely and historic sites abound.
You can see as much and spend less on our side of the Blue Ridge just a few miles NW of Leesburg. See, e.g., http://www.visitwinchesterva.com
Would be of more help, but getting ready to jump the Norge tomorrow for a two=day back-road romp to Atlanta.
Have a fine time.

Google for a small town just outside Leesburg called "The Plains, VA" I recall taking a scenic road from Leesburg to The Plains several years ago. Don't recall specific places to see and places to eat, but I found the short drive (maybe 50 miles round trip) and the little town quite interesting.

My son who lives in Leesburg sent me the following. I'd asked him about the scenic drive to The Plains, VA. One of the links provides that info.
Beautiful area.

And when you get to the plains, try and get there around 9:30 am on Sunday. Our local classic bike cadre has an impromptu meeting there every Sunday.

White's Ferry is right there too, so you could take a short trip over to Poolesville MD and look around at a nice, truly small town. Also nearby on the MD side is Sugarloaf Mountain, great for hiking or just enjoying some scenic views.

Just be sure to watch your speed in Poolesville - there are speed cameras everywhere.

I'm glad you pointed that out, since I had no idea! I've ridden through there a couple times in the last year and I guess by pure luck I behaved myself well enough.

Thanks for the suggestions I have a 21 month old that's teething so I took off with the cousin today to Harpers Ferry. It was a nice drive and attraction especially after reading a recent book on Jon Brown and the battle that started there.
Anyways we are back on our way to Hershey after stopping at Troegs and had just a pretzel without trying any beer. I'll make sure I sample it on the second time around. Then on our way to Intercourse to get some tacky souvenirs about how much I love intercourse.
Weather will hold out all week.
