Title: Bypass the alarm

I just purchased a 2014 California Touring and along with the keys and booklets the dealer gave me a little plastic gizmo that they said could be used to bypass the alarm system.  The only problem is that nobody at the dealership, including the sales people and the service people, knew what to do with the gizmo in order to bypass the alarm.  Anybody know or have pictures of it in place?

Under the left side cover, you will find the alarm unit and the connection it plugs into.
Disconnect the alarm and insert the plug (gizmo) supplied.

Another question if you're still here Stephen.  Once I unplug the alarm and plug in the "gizmo," do I just leave the other unplugged end hanging there?

Oh, I hope I am not the only one wondering this... Why would one wish to bypass the alarm?  Is it so temperamental the factory has despaired of fixing it and provides the 'gizmo' as their only method of relief?

The 'other end' is simply the cable from the alarm unit. You can leave it as, tie it out of the way, tape over it and tie it up, or remove the alarm unit and put it on a shelf. The dash display will still show 'CODE' at start up, but just ignore it. As for why did I remove mine...I didn't trust the little blue arm/disarm transponder, and use locks if I am securing my bike.
