Title: late May and dealer visit
Post by: lucydad on May 22, 2015, 12:56:11 PM
All,

Little Goose got the love today.  And what a lovely day:  temps in low to mid seventies, no rain, moderate wind, broken clouds to overcast.

Roads pretty muddy with lots of typical truck traffic.  Have to watch those slimed curves especially, what I fondly call "R-Roads".  Won't share why.
Plenty of ded critters too, possums and armydillas.   Did some twisties, or what passes for them around here.  Rode NW to Katy.  Decided to stop into a dealer I have passed dozens of times to take a break, and poke around.  Polaris West is the venue,  and yeah I am a PII stockholder so it was inspection time.  They passed
with flying colors.  Friendly, knew their stock (Polaris, Victory, Suzuki, Triumph and Royal Enfield).  Saw a gorgeous matte black Daytona.  And some of the big ass Triumphs including the elephant model.  Around the back room:  about seven new Royal Enfields.  I have to say, these bikes tweaked my heart.

Head sales/owner guy invited me for a sit and a test ride on one of the Enfields.  Was tempted, and a few of them went outside to view the V7R.  Owner knew all about Guzzis and said he rode one in South Africa when a throttle twist on a big block made the shaft drive jump.  Younger sales guy asked if I would let him ride Little Goose, I declined graciously.

Nice group of guys, and a beautiful, family owned motorcycle dealership.  They had a couple old racing Ducatis too,  very interesting and friendly place.

Ride home was fun, blasting down 99 very fast after idiot at turn tried to cut me off....well frack me to tears, take your turn Mr. Mecredes.

Home chillin with poodles.

Here's blue in your eye:

Blue shirt is the one Todd Haven gave me when I bought the V7R.  It was part of our hard negotiations.  Miss Todd, he was a very fine fellow and true Texan patriot.

If its nice tomorrow probably will go up to Brenham with buddy Ed.  Will decide which bike gets the honors depending on weather.  If it looks windy and possibly rainy the Goose gets the nod.

Veloce!  Audace!  Molto bene.

Note poodle pack reflections.  They also wanted to be in the selfie.

Nice! Sounds like a good day.

PS: My wife is from the Republic of Texas. Family still there. Beautiful country!
