Title: Cali 1400 Custom - Adjust Rear Suspension for Fully Loaded Setup
Post by: CBJoe on May 24, 2015, 07:57:02 AM
Hello All,

I've tried searching the forum, but getting a database error, so sorry if this is a repeat inquiry.

I've got things exposed to replace my damaged rear tire, so I though I'd adjust the suspension for fully loaded with hard bags/passenger/luggage for a 3 week trip I'm getting ready to take.

The manual I have says for Fully loaded w/ passenger and luggage, it should be 23-preload, 3-rebound

I've seen threads here and over at the GuzziTech forum to adjust for 2-up riding at 14-preload, 12-rebound.....which seems WAY different than what the manual suggests. Can someone help me understand that. My wife and I together are probably around 400lbs

Any other recommendations on settings for a fully laden bike ( Custom w/ hard bags, loaded luggage rack, passenger)....or shall I stick with the manuals recommendations?

Regards, Joe

I have found that lots of rebound damping is a good thing when 2-up.

Ok...and just so I'm not completely off base..... more rebound = fewer clicks from seated, right?  So 3 clicks out = higher rebound than 12 clicks out.

Thanks, Joe
