Me and my daughter Lisa are on our annual "Dad-Daughter" bike trip, this time in Texas. It's nice and hot here... 😀😀😀
Rolled out from Dallas to Bridgeport, Austin, Lake Travis, Marble Falls, Luckenbach and just before San Antonio the Texas heat was no match on Italian brake lines. The rear brake line collapsed and melted internally.. Locked the rear brake too. Luckily I was in one of the few places with a great Guzzi dealer and now we are waiting brake line to be overnighted. Absolutely top notch service, we got water as soon as we rolled in and even a ride to airport to rent a car! Texas hospitality indeed. We sould be back on the road on Thursday...
Other than that, Quota is pulling the load like an old mule and we are enjoying the 97F weather 8 to 12 hours a day! Hahaha... Right now we're having few days off in my my daughters birthplace, Victoria TX.

Thanks for the pictures. Love the quota. Does look like a great touring rig.

Just sayin' "howdy" to Rick Perry.

Was the brake hose routed wrong? Is it a DOT-blessed hose? I'm asking because a brake line should be able to handle both the pressure of braking and the dry boiling point of the fluid, which should be in the WAY HOT range -- +400ºf for DOT3 and higher. If hot weather is melting it, you've got a serious problem.

Green, pretty daughters like yours are why daddies go to jail for murder.  Glad to hear about your adventure. Time wasted with your children is never wasted time. Ride on proud poppa. :bike-037: :thumb:

It's the original brake line from 2000. Routing of the brake Li ne was normal.
I think it died of old age😀
And the TX weather of 97 something gave it a premature death.

Yes, it's the same red one, now silver and black.
Right now in Shreveport eating crawfish! Life is good, weather was so hot that when we got nailed by rain, we chose to get soaked with clothes on than put raingear on... Hahaha...
